Blaise had all but given up. He wasn't a good guy by any means. He was a Slytherin after all and by association he had to be a bad person. So why did he care? Why couldn't he shake the ridiculous crush he had?

"Do you think maybe..." Blaise trailed off.

"No." Draco rolled his eyes. "Why can't you just be normal? Let's finish our last year and be done with this."

Blaise shrugged at Draco.nof course Draco was right. They were among the few people who had come back to redo their last year. Even though Blaise had never really picked a side he would always stand by Draco. Everyone knew that so basically he had when Draco chose to walk up to Voldemort.

"But what if... Just maybe what if she..."

"Blaise!" Draco cut him off. "Hermione Granger is dating the weasel. She doesn't know you exist and she doesn't care."

Blaise slumped into the couch. It was that punch that had solidified his "crush" on her in third year. Her dress at the Yale Ball had made him drool and he was jealous of Victor Krum in fourth year. Then there was the whole thing with Ronald Weasley and Lavender Brown.

"Snap out of it. We have class." Draco sounded annoyed.

Of course her was annoyed. Every time Hermione did something Blaise thought was awesome he wouldn't shut up. Draco was annoyed that his best friend so openly admired Hermione and she never once noticed it. He was annoyed that Blaise was his best friend because he was the reason Blaise had a bad reputation.

Blaise followed Draco to their class. To him Draco was more than a friend. Draco was a brother... A little brother who needed protection. Even though he knew they were the same age. That's why he always sided with Draco.

Blaise spent the class like he did most classes. He was practically sleeping with his eyes open. It was daydreaming but Draco refused to call it that. Blaise found one spot in the classroom and stared off into eternity.

"Hey Potter!" Draco had had enough of it all. "We're going to throw a party. 8th years only. You are invited and your friends."

Harry raised an eyebrow at him. Draco always had an agenda. Harry frowned all the way back to his own common room. Even as he sat down and been asked him questions. Even as Ginny sat down next to him and held his hand.

"Malfoy just invited us to a party." Harry finally said and looked at Ginny. "Sorry I forgot to ask if you would be an acception."

The news spread like wildfire just as Draco had hoped. The room of requirement hadn't exactly been repaired yet from the fire so he had to make another plan. He found a rather spacious area - the place they had gone to practice DADA in second year.

He used a spell similar to the age spell Dumbledore used in fourth year on the doorway. He didn't want any strays getting in and ruining his plan. As he worked to rearrange the area and decorate it a thought occurred to him. How was he going to get Hermione to talk with Blaise alone?

"Maybe you should add some sleeping areas or something."

Draco jumped at the sudden voice and spun around. "Potter?"
