Chapter 29.

Lucian carried as many bags as he could onto the car before running back into the house. He moved back and forth at a speed faster than light if that was even possible. Fia and Sal were running around like headless chickens, grabbing anything Lucian dropped along the way. Oliver was dropping suitcases from the stairs, while Kory was catching them and gently placing them on the expensive flooring.

Trixie was making a phone call, asking for their private jet to be ready. I looked at her weirdly as I tried to remember what they looked like. I faintly remember Oliver telling me what a jet was, but it must've been something not needed in my mind to remember. Jeremy was helped Trixie, giving names and a place to go that sounds foreign to me. It must've been where my family was.

Lilura and I were watching as we leaned against the car, our arms crossed as we explained our surroundings. It was a habit we both shared, one I had obviously picked up from her. As my eyes scanned the perimeter, they landed on my supposed Aunt Sage, who was screaming at Jackie who had dropped a bag and something glass had shattered inside it. Savannah was looking guiltily as she helped the young girl pick up the glass that had slipped through the now ripped bag.

"How come Oliver didn't notice you immediately as your mate?" I asked, realizing that both of them had been on the yacht at the exact same time.

Lilura turned to look at me after my comment. "They drugged me, making sure I would go undetected. I was knocked out cold until the night I woke up, that's why Sal stayed. It's a special drug that blocks the scent and presence of a being."

I looked at her in amazement and wonder. "You were in a large sack the entire time, I figured it was just a bag filled tightly with clothing. Never did it process that it was a person."

She shrugged her shoulders. "This was never your fault."

Her words seemed to have their own double meaning, but I brushed it aside as Lucian slammed the trunk shut. His eyes softened when they landed on me, and he grabbed my hands as he approached. It seemed like we were in our own little world as he brushed a stray hair that had fallen in my face. His warm tan hands soothing my strained muscles as they went higher to my neck. Our lips brushed after he leaned forward, a loving smile on his face.

It turned serious as he nodded to the two SUV's that we parked in the long driveway. "We'll be riding to the airport. Fia and Sal are driving the one we're in, and Trixie and Jeremy are leading the way."

I nodded, sighing when I realized this was the last time I could possibly see this extravagant house. Lucina must've noticed me frown, because he kissed it away. "We'll come back here, once when everything has blown over and there isn't a bounty on your head."

Jeremy walked over to us, his hand gripping the car Lilura and I were leaning against. His voice boomed as he addressed everyone around us. "Alright, it's time to head out. The plane will be waiting when we sneak through the airport."

"Sneak?" I asked, raising a single eyebrow.

"There are a few witches that watch over the airport. That is the direct entrance to bringing people here, it's fairly well guarded." Sal explained, walking over to the other SUV. "Come on, the faster we leave the better. We don't want to run into them along the way. There's no doubt they'll be expecting us to leave now that they're close."
