Chapter 14.
I sat on the bed, my back against the headrest. London was still standing in bewilderment, her eyes looking down at me curiously. Only a second ago she was in my arms, and now I was opposite her. Resting my hands on my lap, I watched as she sat at the end of the bed, her eyebrows scrunching together in curiosity.
“Clay,” She paused, creasing her eyebrows together. “You don’t have to tell me anything.”
“No London, I have to.” I explained, shaking my head. “I was wrong to keep a secret from you, especially when you mean the world to me.”
Biting her lip, I watched her as she didn’t answer. I knew immediately she had no idea what to say, and I understood her. She didn’t need to say anything, the second I explain everything to her. Like I said, she needs to be happy, and this was the only way. I don’t want her worrying anymore, not when she’s carrying my son.
“I’ve been lying to you, for just about a month now.” I told her, and it seemed to me that she visibly paled. “The entire time I knew Penelope was alive.”
“What?” She whispered, tears filling in her eyes. I knew it was just from the shock, and the baby hormones, but I couldn’t help but feel guilty.
“The girl who came into your dream, the same night of your Illumination Dream, she summoned me, and I was just about forced to speak with her.” I said and I scooted closer to London as I sat up. “She’s a witch.”
London raised her hand at me, her face blank and unemotional which caught me off guard. “Your family hates witches.” She began raising her voice. “Hell, the entire pack hates witches!”
I continued, completely ignoring her obvious statement. “Penelope and I share the same blood, and that links us in some weird way for Lilura to enter our dreams. The only reason Lilura could’ve entered your dreams was-”
“Not only our bonded souls but,” tears leaked from her eyes, and I was forced to look away. “The baby.”
I swallowed hard, and nodded. Lilura didn’t tell me that part, but eventually I figured it out. The only way to enter a beings dreams is through blood, at least this is what I think. Rylan, Penelope, and I are siblings, making it possibly easier to enter our minds. However, entering London’s is different, because she isn’t related to Penelope through exact blood. The baby must’ve made it simpler for Lilura, and the witch could’ve easily lied her way through my mind about the bond.
“After you told me about her entering your dreams, I ordered her to never do that again.” I bit my lip. She needed to know about what would happen if Penelope was ever found. She deserves to know the truth about it.
“It never happened again.” She whispered, and she watched as I took her face in my hands, cupping them as if she was an expensive piece of china.
Don’t you dare do this to her, you of all people know it will shatter her. My wolf growled at me as he paced back and forth in my mind.
It needs to be done. I responded back, and he let an unattractive snarl.
What about our child? What will happen to Felix if the truth of your death overwhelms her? Are you listening to me? Our son can be miscarried! He shouted, and I shook my head, trying to decide through right and wrong.
