Sapphire's P.O.V

The restaurant might have been crowded and people chattering about all sorts, but at our table it was dead silent. Everyone was looking at Blake. Even poor Johnny who didn’t understand why thick tension was now roping around us.

Giving a cough, Linx shifted slightly in his seat. “What are you doing here Blake?” Linx asked with a monotone.

Blake released Aerie’s hand and pulled two chairs away from an empty table beside ours. He placed a chair next to Aerie and him. Sitting down, they both smiled. “I’m here to visit my friends.” Blake stated and then looked over at Aerie. “And go on a date with my girlfriend.” Gazing away from the wild cat smiling girl next to him, Blake locked eyes with me. “Like everyone else is doing, right Sapphire?”

“Private party,” Linx exclaimed as the waiter came over and handed us all the drinks we ordered.

Blake looked around the restaurant before focusing back on my brother. “Doesn’t look like it. In fact, this place looks pretty public if you ask me.”

“That is the thing, Blake, he didn’t ask you,” Alicia stated with anger seeping into her voice.

Leaning back in his chair, Blake glanced over at Joshua. “Hey, Josh, haven’t seen you in a while. How is your son?”

Everyone at the table gave a gasp as they all looked at Joshua with curious and shocked eyes. Sinking in my seat, I realized my brother just found out that the guy I am dating is a father ... if the age thing wasn’t enough to make him judge our relationship, this would be the thing that sets him over the edge ... Blake just had to go and poke the fire.

“Noah, he is fine,” Joshua replied.

“Oh, good, I bet Lil-”

“Why are you here Blake?” Joshua asked before Blake could finish his sentence.

My eyes flickered between Blake and Joshua, wondering how they knew each other. “Wait ... you two know one another?” I questioned.

Smirking, Blake looked at me with his forest green eyes. “Yeah, we know each other.”

Arching an eyebrow at Joshua, I looked at him to explain. But instead of answering me, Joshua stood up.

“Where are you going?” I inquired.

Without looking at me Joshua replied. “I’m leaving.”

My legs sprung up at his words. “No, Joshua, please don’t go.”

“Let him leave, Sapphire. Sour company anyways,” Blake stated in a laid back tone.

Ignoring Blake, I focused all my attention on Joshua who was making no move to leave, but still looked seconds from turning around and leaving. “Please, Joshua, don’t go. I need you,” I told him as I grabbed his hand.
