You and the crew finally reached your destination, which was an eerily location surrounded by forest. There was a deadily silence when you approached, the only light source being the moonlight that glowed in your favor. "Are we the only applicants?" "It's quite quiet here.." You looked over to Kurapika, who nodded. Leorio opened the door to the cottage, and the sight caught you off guard.
There was a man on the floor, reaching his hand out; seemingly in pain. Then there was a giant magical beast, which reminded you of a crossover between a bunny and a coyote; holding a lady by the throat. The odd beast kept mumbling "kill-kill-kill-kill-kill" over and over again. It sounded almost like chatter.Kurapika quickly went into combat mode, and you tried to catch up with the beast. "We gotta save her!" "Leorio, stay with him!" "Got it!" "You guys, I'll stay back and help Leorio!" You yelled. It's not safe to be alone during this time, and you can't trust anybody. You've got to be careful. You retreated quickly to go with Leorio, who was quick to easily help the man up. The man turned to the two of you , thanking you sincerely. You nodded, but watched the mans every move. When Leorio turned away to open his suitcase, he disappeared. You turned your head and looked over to Leorio, who was just as baffled as you. "So I stand corrected." You noted.
Leorio tilted his head, seemingly annoyed. "What the hell! What do you mean you stand corrected?" You side-eyed him. "That mans a magical beast. I had forgotten about it; but it's brought to my attention that those magical beasts are called Kiriko! They can shapeshift. I think that man was a Kiriko. Don't worry, I assume this is our test Leorio. I had a friend who was a Kiriko, they are unusually sweet." You smiled, helping Leorio up. "Thanks...." "now let's go find the others!" You nodded at Leorio's final statement.
——
"Not at all." "Can you tell them apart?" You tilted your head, and smiled. "Ah! Your so quick to notice Gon! Your right!" You smiled, patting his head. He smiled. "See! I'm not delusional!" Gon snickered at Leorio. "As you may of realized..." "we're the navigators." The other two had butted in, sayin that they were their offspring. "Ah! I knew it! See?" You smiled at Leorio. He nodded. The navigators and the offspring started stating off what was right about us. Kurapika was their knowledge, Leorio was his compassion, Gon was extortionate agility and perception. "As for you, Bassie; I could notice you had a strong compassion to keep others safe, and your keen eyesight and assumptions. I could tell quickly you were able to figure me out, but you never told Leorio. Is there a reason?" The man asked you. You shrugged, throwing your hands in your pocket. "I'm not easily fooled, but it took me some time to recall memories about your kind. I had a friend once and I was introduced to their family, your kind are very gentle when it comes to humans. As long as they aren't vicious I assume." You smiled. The man chuckled. "Experience. A key part of becoming a hunter is experience." He commended, before turning to the rest of us."You all pass, we will take you straight to the exam hall."

You all enjoyed the brief flight there, but you wondered what the actual exam had in store; if this was just the beginning of hardships.
