Chapter 3

Felix remained lost in his thoughts then looked up smiling.

-You're good. I owe you that part Marinette. How can I assist?

-I need you to tell me everything you know about Shadowmoth.

-I can't do that.

-Why is that? Asked Adrien.

-It's for your own good cousin. It's better if you don't know anything about it.

-I can bear it. Just tell us.

-Will you be here for him? Asked Felix turning to Marinette.

-Always. She said reaching to Adrien's hand.

Felix started revealing everything he had discovered on Shadowmoth. Without sparing any details, he told everything he knew. Even though Adrien was not showing it, Marinette knew that he was putting on his brave face for her, when in fact, he was breaking inside. It was astonishing! Gabriel was Shadowmoth and was keeping his wife in a comatose state! Nathalie Sancoeur was Mayura! All the evidence were now clear and they both realised how blind and stupid they had been. Adrien was holding on tight to Marinette's hand. It was as if the second he would let go, he would fall. To tell the truth, he needed her. He needed her to hold him for a while and to never let go. It might have sounded desperate but it was true. He felt that he could fell apart at any moment...When Felix finished, Marinette thanked him and said,

-I'm going to need the peacock miraculous.

-Why would I give it you?

-I wasn't asking, you know? She said, her eyes firing a determined look.

Felix smiled, then looked at his cousin. Adrien was in a dreadful state. He was so pale that it was as if his eyes could pop out any minute. He remained still, unaware of what Marinette and Felix were talking about. He was in a state of shock and Marinette, seeing that Felix was not replying, continued,

-I will give it back to you. I just need it to defeat Shadowmoth, I mean Gabriel...You have my word that I will give it back. I promise.

-You better be sure of yourself. He said as he handed her the peacock miraculous.

-Yes. Thank you. She replied under a breath.

After a while, she and Adrien transformed back into CosmoBug and AstroCat and landed in a deserted street.

"Deserted street"

-Are you- asked Marinette as they detransformed.

Adrien didn't reply and collapsed into her as they both fell on the ground. Luckily, it was already dark so no one could see them. They were sitting against the wall, Adrien's head in the crook of Marinette's neck. She gently made circles on his shoulder, he was crying. The amount of time they had spent together side to side in the alley was unknown. No one counted, no one cared...they just sat there both processing the information Felix had given them...Finally, Adrien whispered,

-I'm so sorry m'lady...

-Don't apologise kitty. You don't need to.

-But I-

Marinette cupped his cheek and made him look at her, then said,

-What your father did is not your fault. You are not responsible. I know you. I know that you would never do such a thing. You are my silly kitty and I love you Adrien Agreste. You are the best Cat Noir any Ladybug could ask for. We are going to end this. I believe in you Adrien.

He remained speechless as he watched Marinette's eyes full of hope and conviction. The only thing he could mumble was,

-How?

-By a simple act. She said as she was about to remove her earrings.

-No. Don't do that. He whispered holding her hand back.

-Kitty...

-No. I don't want you to-

-You know that I would do anything for you. She interrupted. Kitty, you deserve your mother back, you have always wanted a family. A simple wish and you will be whole again! All you have to do is bring my earrings to your father.

-No.

-Cat I-

-No m'lady, I won't you do it. For every wish, there is a consequence. I don't want to lose you for the world. You are my family, not my father, not my mother...they are my past and you are my future. I love you Bug.

-Are you sure? I don't want to lose your only chance to-

Adrien interrupted her, smashing his lips against hers for a long and passionate kiss, holding her close to him, not wanting to let go.

-Yes I am. He whispered against her lips. You are my life and my entire universe Mari.

-I love you so much Cat. She murmured.

Adrien smiled, his eyes shining and asked as he helped her get up,

-So what's the plan m'lady?

-Just follow my lead, she replied as she winked at him.

-Always...

Marinette put on the peacock miraculous and said,

-TIKKI, DUUSU, UNIFY!! And she transformed into Paon Bug. Closing her eyes, she managed to create two sentimonsters, out her tie band, identical to Ladybug and Cat Noir.
