A/N
The outfit up top is what I had in mind, you can choose your own of course but have on long pants that don't reveal your left leg.
Also pretend this song existed when Y/n was in 6th grade even though, if Y/n were real, the song would've came out when she was 16. I put the song above in case u wanted to listen, it is not timed by the way.

*****************************************

I walk in the halls before second hour following my friends Barb and Nancy as they fangirl over Steve Harrington. He's not bad looking, he's just a jerk. I've hated him since 6th grade. 'Why?' Because Steve had the great idea of messing up my solo at the Christmas musical.

-flashback-
I have always hated singing, but my mom said I sang like and angel. That Christmas she signed me up for a solo song called 'This Night'.

I was so excited and nervous I couldn't think straight. I got up on stage and started singing my heart out. I loved it.

*play song now*
"Didn't I say I wasn't ready for a romance,
Didn't we promise
We would only be friends..."

I had the biggest crush on Steve back then, looking back on it I can't figure out any reason why. We were really close friends, minus Tommy H and Carol. We had met in elementary school, we always went to the park to hang out. Everyone thought we had a crush on each other, I was worried he would find out but till this day he's never confronted me about it. We always told each other if neither of us were married by the age of 25 we would get married to each other. I think we're both going to break that promise.

"This night you're mine
It's only you and i...
I'll tell you to forget yesterday
This night we are together..."

I was half way through the song. I saw Steve talking to Tommy and Carol. Well it looked like he was yelling at them. He went and sat back down and gave me a huge smile and thumbs up, like I said, we were best friends back then.
Tommy and Carol came back stage as they we're singing next.
'Jingle Bell Rock' was there song.

Soon the light shut off and so did the music, I couldn't see what was going on. The director told me that they were having technical difficulties because someone turned off the master switch, meaning the entire schools light was shut down. It would take at least 15 minutes for it to power back on so I asked to walk off stage and go with my mom. The director said if I could make it.

There was a lot of cords and instruments scattered around the stage. I started walking off the stage when Tommy and Carol snuck on and pushed me off.

They were banned from preforming for the rest of middle school as my knee popped out of socket and I had to get knee replacement surgery. The stage was 3 feet tall but they pushed me into the orchestra pit which is 8 foot drop from the stage.

-present day-

I walked into Nancy's locker, she must've opened it when I was reminiscing about the past.

"Oh, sorry!"

"No, it's okay, I wasn't paying attention."

-time skip to at home.-

"Mom!"
