+Chapter Sixteen +

Lucas give a slight smile and invites me in as he runs to his room to grab a few things, a white bandana and his wrist rocket. As Lucas grabs his bike out of the garage a van pulls up, with Hawkins Electric printed on the side. Lucas gives the van an uneasy look then looks at me.
"Let's go." He affirms. We both start pedaling down his street.
*time skip*
After biking for awhile we reach a big hill. We both decide that neither of us want to pedal all the way up the steep slope so we get off our bike and walk them up there. That's where we reach a big gate.
"Look!" Lucas whisper shouts, pointing at his compass. It's doing this weird motion where it's bouncing back and forth over north.
"That must mean we're close, right?"
"I guess." He says looking side to side.
"Oh man." He says as he starts going left down the long fence, I follow.
*time skip*
It feels like we've been walking for hours. I stole a glance at my watch, still keeping an eye on Lucas. It's only been 30 mins. I look up and see only Lucas bike leaning against a tree, my breath gets caught in my chest. I look all around me, right, left, up- oh! There he is, in the tree.
"Lucas you nearly gave me a great attack!" I scold as I start climbing the tree.
"Sorry..." he says as he gets out binoculars and looks over the fence.
"What are you looking at?"
"I see people, going into this lab... it's the electrical company lab, but there's military vehicles there?"
"That's weird." I say as he hands me the binoculars. After looking for myself I hand them back, it's true, but why are they there? Electrical lab vans, like the vans outside Lucas and Mikes homes all the time.
"Let's go." He says hurriedly. We start climbing down. We then grab our bikes and Lucas radios the boys. Though he's mainly just yelling, and who knows how well the signal is.
"I don't know, he's way out of range." Is what I think I heard but the signal sucks.
"Son of a bitch!"
"Lucas, if you can hear us, slow down. We can't understand you. Is Y/n still with you?"
"Yes, we copy! Do you? They know about Eleven! Get out of there! They know about Eleven! The bad men are coming! All of them! Do you hear me? The bad men are coming!" Lucas panic yells, pedaling faster. This boy definitely has anxiety.
" 'Mad hen.' Does that mean anything to you? Like a code name or something?"
"The bad men are coming!" I scream into the radio.
"Dustin!" I scream into the radio, they've been quiet awhile.
"Dustin, do you copy?"
"Yeah, they're on us."
"Where are you?" I ask.
"Cornwallis."
"Meet me at Elm and Cherry!" I yell.
"Copy."
"Elm and Cherry!" I yell to Lucas as we both take a left on the next street and start pedaling faster.
We start head down a mini hill, pushing on our brakes to not go to fast, we see Dustin, Mike, and Eleven and stop.

"Lucas, Y/n!"
"We're being chased!" Dustin exclaims.
"Where are they...?" Mike says, looking at the direction they just came from.
"I think we lost them."
"Chances are you didn't I said nodding my head in the direction of a Hawkins Electric Van as it's tires screeched on the road.
"Shit!" The boys exclaim in sync. "Go, go, go, go, go!"
We start pedaling again. Safe to say I got my work out in for the year.
"Faster!" Mike yells looking behind us. Suddenly a van pulls onto the road in front of us.
"Shit!" I imagine the van catching on fire, it does. It starts drifting to the side of the road, then suddenly it flips over. Not just roll, it flips over us!
"Holy shit!" We all say, except Eleven. We continue riding to the Junkyard.
"Did... did you see what she did to that van?"
"No, Dustin, we missed it."
"It even caught on fire! Do you have fire powers?" Dustin asks her but she nods her head no. Dustin then turns to me and give me a hug.
"You're the coolest." he whispers. (I can't remember if Lucas and Mike know ab her powers but let's pretend they don't.)
"It was awesome. Everything I said about you being a traitor and stuff... I was wrong. I'm sorry." Lucas says as he places a hand on her back.
"Friends... friends don't lie. I'm sorry too." This is like the sweetest thing ever.
"Me too." Mike says, sticking out his hand to Lucas. Lucas shakes. Dustin and I smile at each other.
*time skip*
"This is Randolph Road, right here. The fence starts here, and goes all the way around. And this is the lab right here. The gate's gotta be in there somewhere. It's gotta be." Lucas explains. Drawing a map in the dirt with a stick.
