Felix's POV
As I was on my way to my friend's class, Jezz and I bumped into each other.
"Jezz, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Felix, it's nothing," she replied hastily.
"Looks like something to me," I said, peeping over her messages.
"Felix, what the hell?" Jezz screamed, trying to snatch her phone away.
"Babe, your parents are in danger, and you're saying it's nothing?"
"Yeah, so what, Felix?"
"So, meet me after school. I want to take you somewhere," I commanded.
"Fine."
After school, I met Jezz by the school gates and drove her over to my place.
"Pretty, huh?" I said as we pulled up to the mansion.
"What?" she asked, looking confused.
"I mean my house," I clarified.
"Yeah, it is. Why are there so many guards, Felix?"
"Oh, you're about to find out."
I took Jezz up to my room and brought out a whiteboard.
"Jezz, here's the thing. My dad is big in society. I mean, gangster big."
"As in mafia?" Jezz asked, her eyes widening.
"Yep."
"So, he can help me find my parents?"
"Well... we're not going to tell him. We're doing this ourselves."
"Are you crazy, Felix?"
"Don't worry, Jezz. I've got this covered, okay? The bastard won't get away."
After Jezz left, I asked my dad's top P.I. to track down the idiot who messed with my girl. He assured me he'd find the person. A few moments later, Jezz messaged me a screenshot of the conversation with the kidnapper. The chat read:
"Meet me at 156 Miroh Street at 5pm sharp on Friday. Drop 6 million in the bin and then leave."
Damn it, how are we gonna get 6 mil by Friday, I thought. I called one of my dad's men to organize fake money. Once it was organized, I had them package the money and store it.
Friday came, and I escorted Jezz to the place. But I wasn't stupid enough to go alone with Jezz; I went with 23 of our top assassins and had them hidden before the time. Once Jezz and I dropped the money and drove off, I alerted my men to take fire if the guy came out. The guy came out, and I reversed the car, speeding to join the guys. When I reached the place again, bullets were flying everywhere, but Jezz's parents were nowhere to be seen.
"Jezz, go check inside the building!" I shouted over the chaos.
She nodded, her face pale but determined, and sprinted towards the entrance. I followed her with my gun drawn, ready for anything. The place was a labyrinth of decrepit rooms and dark hallways, each turn filled with the possibility of danger.
Felix's POV
As we navigated the building, my phone buzzed. It was a message from our P.I.: "We've got a lead on your parents' location. Basement, northwest corner."
"Jezz, this way!" I called, leading her down a flight of rickety stairs. The basement was dimly lit, the air thick with dust and the smell of mildew. My heart pounded in my chest as we reached the door to the northwest corner.
I kicked the door open, my gun ready. Inside, we found her parents tied up and gagged, looking terrified but unharmed. Relief washed over me as I hurried to untie them.
"Jezz, help me with the knots!" I said. She rushed over, tears streaming down her face as she helped free her parents.
"Thank you, Felix," her mother whispered, her voice shaky.
"We need to get out of here," I said, my eyes scanning the room for any signs of trouble. "Follow me and stay close."
We made our way back through the building, the sound of gunfire outside growing fainter. As we emerged into the daylight, I saw my men had the situation under control. The kidnappers were subdued, and the area was secure.
Felix's POV
Back at my house, we finally allowed ourselves to relax. Jezz's parents were safe, and the immediate danger was over. We sat in the living room, the adrenaline slowly ebbing away.
"Felix, I don't know how to thank you," Jezz said, her voice filled with gratitude.
I smiled, pulling her into a hug. "You don't have to. I'd do anything for you."
Her parents, now more composed, expressed their thanks as well. "We owe you our lives, Felix. We'll never forget this," her father said.
"It's all in a day's work," I joked, trying to lighten the mood. "Just another Friday dealing with kidnappers and shootouts."
Jezz chuckled, the tension finally breaking. "You're insane, Felix."
"Maybe a little," I admitted with a grin. "But you love me for it."
Felix's POV
As the evening wore on, we made plans to ensure Jezz's parents were safe and secure. I knew this wasn't over yet; the kidnappers were just a part of a larger network, and we had to be prepared for anything.
But for now, we could rest. We had won this battle, and with Jezz by my side, I knew we could face whatever came next.
