Felix's POV

The weight of my father's company on my shoulders was heavy, especially after his passing. I wished I could have been there to see our child grow, but circumstances demanded otherwise. Keeping a distance was essential to protect Jezz and our baby from the dangers lurking in my world. It wasn't about weakness; it was about survival.

Monitoring them discreetly became a part of my routine. Jezz's Instagram provided glimpses into their lives, and Hyunjin, being a close friend, filled in the gaps. Knowing they were safe and living normally brought a sense of relief amidst my responsibilities.

Years passed, and life took its course.

Jezz's POV

Seven years flew by, marked by accomplishments and new beginnings. As a lawyer now, I have found stability and happiness. Two years ago, I tied the knot and welcomed a son into the world. My life had evolved, but Felix's memory lingered, a silent presence in my heart.

Despite our separation, the love I held for Felix remained unwavering. I made peace with our past, understanding the reasons for his departure. Our daughter, when the time is right, will learn about her father, but until then, I'll cherish our memories privately, keeping our connection alive in my heart.

Felix's POV

The years that slipped by were not devoid of longing or regret. Every milestone missed, every birthday uncelebrated, weighed on me. But the world I was ensnared in left little room for such sentiments. My decisions, though harsh, were fueled by a desire to shield Jezz and our daughter from a life of uncertainty and peril.

In my moments of solitude, I imagined a different reality where we were a family, where my presence was not a threat but a source of comfort. Yet, reality was relentless. The company's demands grew, and my role as its head left little space for personal dreams.

Jezz's POV

Life had a way of weaving unexpected threads into our tapestry. Felix's absence carved out a hollow in my heart, but it also taught me resilience. My career flourished, my family grew, and I discovered strengths I didn't know I possessed.

Still, in the quiet moments, Felix's memory would surface. I would see glimpses of him in our daughter's eyes, in the way she smiled or furrowed her brow in concentration. Those were the moments when the past felt like a whisper, a gentle reminder of the love that once was and the sacrifices made.

As our daughter grew, questions about her father became inevitable. I prepared myself to share the story of a man who loved deeply but chose to protect from afar. She deserved to know the truth, to understand the complexities of love and duty that shaped her existence.

"Mom, why don't I have a dad like the other kids?" my daughter asked one evening, her innocent eyes searching mine for answers.

"But love Hyunjin is your dad" I stated, whilst my heart raced.

"Mommy i know he is not" She said, looking up at me with glistening eyes.

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "Your father was a very brave man," I began softly. "He loved us very much, but there were things in his life that made it dangerous for him to be with us."

"Was he a superhero?" she asked, her eyes wide with wonder.

"In a way, he was," I replied, a small smile tugging at my lips. "He protected us by staying away, to keep us safe from harm."

"Will I ever meet him?" she asked, hope flickering in her voice.

"I don't know, sweetheart," I said honestly. "But he watches over us, and he loves you very much, even from afar."
