Jezz POV

I entered the crumbling building, my heart pounding with fear and determination. The search for my parents was like navigating a maze of debris and shadows. Each step echoed with uncertainty, the air thick with dust and despair.

As I scoured every corner, my hope dwindled. The building's dilapidated state only heightened my sense of urgency. Suddenly, a faint ticking noise cut through the silence, sending a chill down my spine.

"Oh no," I whispered, realization dawning too late. The ticking grew louder, morphing into a menacing rhythm. The next moment, chaos erupted as explosions ripped through the structure, shattering walls and windows.

Panic seized me as I scrambled for an exit. Debris rained down, and I stumbled, my vision blurred by smoke and shock. Just when I thought all was lost, strong arms encircled me, pulling me to safety.

Felix's face, a mix of concern and determination, was the last thing I saw before everything went dark. The deafening roar of the blasts faded into a distant hum, replaced by a ringing in my ears as unconsciousness claimed me.

When I awoke, it was to the familiar surroundings of my room. Disoriented and groggy, I stumbled downstairs to find my parents sitting in the living room, safe and unharmed.

"Mom, Dad!" I cried, relief flooding my senses as I rushed to embrace them.

"We're fine, sweetheart. Felix found us," my mom explained, her voice tinged with gratitude.

Tears of joy and relief streamed down my cheeks as I hugged them tightly, grateful beyond words. But amidst the overwhelming emotions, Felix's heroism remained a vivid memory in my mind.

After ensuring my parents were okay, I retreated to my room, thoughts swirling like a turbulent storm of the previous day.

Later, a knock on the door startled me. To my surprise, it was Felix, his expression a mix of concern and reassurance.

"Felix," I greeted him, a rush of emotions washing over me.

"Jezz, are you okay?" he asked, his eyes searching mine for any sign of distress.

"Yes, thanks to you," I replied, gratitude filling my voice.

Felix's presence was both comforting and unsettling. He explained how he had tracked down the kidnappers using his connections, a mix of resourcefulness and determination evident in his words.

As he spoke, I couldn't help but admire his bravery and strength . Despite the danger, he had risked everything to save my parents, a gesture that touched my heart deeply.

"I owe you so much, Felix," I said, feeling a lump form in my throat.

"You don't owe me anything, Jezz. I'm just glad you're safe," he replied, his gaze softening.

We shared a moment of understanding, gratitude, and unspoken emotions. His departure left me with conflicting feelings, a mix of admiration and uncertainty swirling within me.

Time passed, and the next day at school, I couldn't shake off the events of the past few days. Jennie's absence was conspicuous, and as lunchtime approached, I wondered about her whereabouts and the challenges life continued to throw our way.
