Lea's POV
I was staring at the sky as the water waves touched my feet, enjoying the sensation of my feet sinking in the sand, and feeling the cold breeze embracing my skin. I feel calm as a clam shell. This is something I have been longing to feel this relaxation.
I'm still amazed, and will always be, by how nature paints the beautiful sky. It is filled with red, orange, and yellow. The light falls across the sea, the thinness of the clouds above the sun, and everything is in the crimson tone. It makes me feel at ease just by looking at the sky.
They're completely out of their minds for still pushing that stupid wedding. I remembered one time where dad came to my condo to say that they are now preparing the wedding. They are now hiring a coordinator and other staff to make that event possible.
I don't even know who that guy is, I only know his name. He's a complete stranger! At ineexpect nila na magpapakasal ako sa taong never ko namang naencounter maliban noong gabing yun?
So I ran away just like what I said to them, that's why I'm here in Palawan.
I bought this nice beach house just last year.
I decided to cook shrimp scampi pasta for dinner. I prepare the ingredients first. I bought groceries that I think would last for a month.
I just got here yesterday after everything my parents had told me that made it push the idea of running away. Honestly I don't know how long I'll be staying here. I just hope that my parents won't find and force me to go back there and marry that guy.
Kinabukasan nag check in ako sa isang resort. I read reviews about this hotel and resort and it was really good. They have a lot of beach activities that I want to try later on.
I went kayaking alone, and to tell you, I never knew that it gives you a different kind of peace.
I can't help but admire nature. I was surrounded with crystal clear water and I could see the rocks and sand in it. There are also incredible high mountains and rocks in my sight and I couldn't contain myself but to capture the amazing view.
After kayaking, I decided to try snorkeling. I'm wearing a black two piece with snorkel gear.
As I look down, I could clearly see the sea creatures swimming, hindi mo na kakailanganing ilubog ang ulo mo para makita sila. I jump out off the boat and dive myself under the water.
I swam together with the fishes as my gaze went stuck to the beautiful coral reefs. Wow. I saw a group of fishes na papalapit sa akin kaya sinalubong ko sila, trying my best to be as gentle as possible as I didn't want them to get scared.
I also saw a pawikan swimming so I waved my hand to it. I'm not allowed to touch any of these sea creatures as their staff instructed me and I totally understand why.
Few minutes later, I swam up as I removed my goggles and returned to the boat.
Mabilis na lumipas ang oras. Nakabihis na ako wearing a short and a white tank top. I'm lying on the lounge chair outside as I was reading a book when someone held my arm.
Binaba ko ang librong hawak hawak ko and there I saw a little girl that I think is around four years old.
Her reaction lit up as her mouth formed 'o'. "It's you!"
My eyebrows furrowed out of confusion. I sat up and faced her. "Hi, what's your name?" I smile sweetly at her. She looks so cute, she has these chubby cheeks that I want to pinch but of course I have to control myself.
"Callie." She stopped to stare at me. "You look beautiful." My heart melted when she said that. Being complimented by a kid is one of the best things because you know they're genuine and brutally honest.
"Awe thank you, and so are you."
"Can you be my mama?" I was stunned by what she said. What did she say? Damn this kid is fast.
I tried to brush it off and let out a chuckle. "Are you lost? Where are your parents?"
She shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe he's there." She pointed somewhere behind my back.
I stood up and held her hand but before I completely turned around, a familiar voice shouted her name.
"Callie!"
I was frozen in my position when I scanned the man approaching us.
"Ikaw talaga kung saan saan ka nalang nagsususuot." Sabi niya habang papalapit sa posisyon namin. He haven't noticed my existence yet and I was just staring at them. My heart dropped the moment he mentioned his name. "Patay na naman ako nito kay Aga kapag may mangyari sa'yo." Napakamot nalang siya sa kaniyang ulo.
Aga? What does he mean by that?
The little girl ran towards him. "I met a lady." She looked up to him. "Can she be my mama?"
"Naku, patay tayo dyan."
Callie whispered something to Bayani before running inside the lobby. In case you didn't know yet, he is the cousin of Aga, who is my ex.
Lumapit siya ng kaunti. "Hi, Lea. Kumusta ka na?"
"I'm doing good. Never been better." I lied. "Um Yani, if you wouldn't mind, whose child is that? I'm confused why she said 'it's you' to me. Nagkita na ba kami noon?"
Kinuha niya ang phone niya ng nag pop ito ng notification. "Hindi ko alam e." His eyes are stuck on his phone. "Baka yun yung isang beses na nakita niya si Aga na hawak hawak ang litrato mo--" He pause when he realized something and looked at me.
"What?"
"Huh? Ay teka lang-- may tumatawag.. mauna na muna ako Lei." Parang natataranta pa siya palayo sa akin habang ang phone niya ay nasa tenga.
I just look at him walking away with disbelief on my face.
That was really weird.
The next morning came, I'm wearing a dirty white soft short and a baby blue summer beach bra.
I'm planning on sunbathing today to get vitamin D.
Mabagal akong naglalakad habang may hinahanap sa tote bag ko until I bumped into someone's body.
"Oh god, I'm sorry." I apologize immediately but when I hear no response, tumingin ako sa taong nabangga ko.
I froze the second our eyes met. My heart started beating so fast that I could hardly breathe. The only thing I could hear was the rapid thumping from my own heartbeat.
It's like everything flashed back, from the memories we shared together, the moments that I know I will always cherish forever, to that scene where he confessed that broke me.
Aga…
