Every summer since Alfie was a baby he's being going to Susannah's beach house in Cousins. He and his Mom, Alfea also lived in cousins, but the mothers always wanted to be together each summer.
Alfie grew up with Belly, Steven, Conrad, and Jeremiah. From them going to the beach together, swimming pool late at night, movies with the moms, but as Alfie started to get older he realized something.
He was gay. He only kept it to himself because he didn't want the relationships with the boys to change. How would they react? Would he be an outcast each summer? Would they be homophobic? He didn't want to make any of them uncomfortable. Sure he knew that Belly would most likely support him.
When Alfie was about 13 he was crying in his room because of it. His mother came found him due to his failing attempts at being quiet and he told her. Sure she was taken aback by it, but she told him that she loved him no matter what, and that was all the reassurance he would need.
