Alfie's POV

I woke up with a monstrous hangover. I had way too much to drink last night. So when Jere offered a hangover smoothie to me I couldn't decline.
While he made it, I decided to go take a shower and get ready to go to the country club with him and Steven. Jere was a lifeguard.
Heading down the stairs Jere offered Conrad a smoothie who was laying on the couch. He also had a hangover. "Good morning." My mom told me.
"Morning."
"Which one of you is gonna be Belly's escort to the ball?" Savannah asked the boys.
"Not me." Conrad was the first to speak.
"Yeah, I swore off balls," Jere said causing laughter to erupt from Steven and I, "The dances dudes."
"And I'm going with Solana." I spoke.
"I am going to find my own date." Belly admitted.

At the country club I found myself with a lifeguard shirt on. A pool manger somehow convinced me to take the job because they were short staffed. A went on the side of Jeremiah who was sitting on the guard tower. He was screaming at kids that weren't listening. I found the sight pretty amusing.
"Hey Jeremiah." A girl called out to him.
"Hey Gigi."
"I didn't know you were working here this summer."
Jere blew his whistle, "Hey Billy, no choking alright?" The boy just splashed water in Jere's direction.
"Jeremiah," The girl swam away, "Aren't you gonna save me?"
"Aren't you gonna save me?" I mocked her. "Such a try hard." Jere just rolled his eyes.

After watching Jeremiah flirt with the thousandth girl I was pretty annoyed. Not annoyed as in jealous, no. Annoyed as in I wasn't supposed to even be working here but I'm stuck doing his job annoyed. I walked over to them with Steven on my side and told the girl, "A kid actually took a shit in that spot your in." She was disgusted at Jere for not telling her and swam away.
"Dude!?" Jere yelled.
"Relax."
Somehow Jere ended up telling them who all he hooked up with. And one of those individuals was a guy. "Your into guys?" I asked him.
"Sexually fluid. Problem?"
"No- no- no, definitely not." I choked up.
"Just kidding, man." Jere said ruffling my hair.

After getting towels from the storage room, I spotted Belly, who was dressed in a beautiful light grey skintight dress. "Alfie! Jeremiah!"
"I didn't even recognize you." Jeremiah said bewildered.
"Tell me the truth," She spoke, "Do I look like a fool?"
"Um.." Jere laughed.
"No. You don't." I said.
"You look good. Let us walk you over."
"Okay."
As they made it to the room with all the debutantes, all chatter stopped. Girls giggled at Jere and I most likely because we had no shirts on and our abs were on full display.
"Jeremiah, Alife."
"Paige."
"Where are you shirts?" The woman asked.
"Can't save lives with shirts on." I joked. "I mean well you can but- um-"
"Uh- This is Belly," Jere took over, "I mean, uh, Isabel Conklin. The young woman my mom told you about, my future wife."
I couldn't stop myself from rolling my eyes. All this flirting was making me tired. I walked out of the rooms and picked up the towels. "Wait on me Alf!"
