Chapter 2 - "Aaron"

Kat was put onto the medical bed, her wrists clamped down so she wouldn't escape. Someone came over and put something over her mouth, and she quickly realized it was some sort of gas... She started feeling... Really... tired...

After a while, Kat woke up again, back into the small room where she was before. She didn't... feel any different.

"Chelsea? Are you here...?" Kat called out to the other side of the wall.

"Yep, I'm here- Are you okay?" Chelsea responded, which made Kat feel much less anxiety overall.

"Yeah... Did they take you to a medical bed too? I think they drugged me, so I literally just woke up now." Kat said.

"Mhm. Same here." Chelsea said.

Kat sat a little bit more comfortably now. "I don't... feel any different. How about you?"

"I don't... Maybe it was just a minor experiment." Chelsea responded

Kat was quiet for a little bit, before finally saying something in a rather anxious tone. "Have you... Have you seen Joe here at all?"

"No...I haven't." Chelsea paused, seeming to note the anxiety in Kat's voice. "It's okay Kat, I'm worried about him too.

Kat and Chelsea had a little chat about how weird this place was, why they were here, what the scientists wanted, etc. After a little while, outside of the room, probably in the hallway, came a voice.

"LET ME GO!" The voice was more masculine and had a British accent to it. From the sounds of it, the person was put into a room similar to Kat's and Chelsea's, judging from the sound of the barrier going off. "Ow, ow ow-"

"Hello?" Kat called to the voice.

"Uh... Hello? Er... Do you know how to get out of here-" The voice asked.

"Nope," Chelsea said, finally speaking up. "We haven't been here long... Anyway, My name is Chelsea, and the other voice you heard is my sister Kat."

"Ah. Alright... I'm Aaron. And... Are you sure there's no way out of here?" Aaron started to half mumble to himself. "I need to get back to the children... They may be in danger because of the..." The rest of it Kat couldn't hear.

"Children? You have kids?" Kat asked.

"No, but I take care of them. I was hired by their father as a butler." Aaron paused for a moment. "..Their... Mother... is gone. And their father is... I'll just simply put it as 'paranoid.'"

"I'm sorry for you, I hope we can find a way out of here so you can get back to them," Kat said sympathetically.

"Speaking of which... What even is this place?" Aaron asked.

This time Chelsea answered him. "According to the holo-colored hair weirdo, we are in Helix Labs... But I've never heard it before. Kat and I were in LAMINAX Labs before we got kidnapped."

"Okay, this just confuses me more. For one, What's Laminax Labs...? And second, how do you NOT know what Helix Lab is? It's literally in the middle of Helix City." Aaron said, sounding rather puzzled.

"Helix... City...? Never heard of it." Chelsea said.

"That's... weird... Helix city is the capital of the entire country." Aaron said. For some reason, Kat had a weird feeling that Aaron wasn't saying something...

"Hey, Aaron, You seem like you know something we don't. Mind telling us what that is?" Kat said, confronting him completely. It took Aaron a moment to respond.

"Well.. I- Er.." Aaron studdered. "Okay, fine, I'll tell you."

Aaron took a deep breath. "So... The thing is... Some people who you know may have thought of this already, maybe even theorized, that there could possibly be... 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘴.

"WHAT?!" Both Kat and Chelsea said at the same time. So... was what Kat saw in that Kaiju crystal... another universe? Kat dwelled on this for a little bit while Aaron was talking. "How do you even KNOW that there are other universes?" Chelsea asked.

"It's... a long story that I would rather not tell... I left that part of my life, and I refuse to go back to it." Aaron half murmured, and it was kind of hard to hear due to his words coming through a wall. "But... anyways. I'm pretty sure you two are possibly from another universe, especially if you've never heard of Helix Labs or even Helix City."

"So... What your saying is... We're in another universe? If that's so, how did Warren, the weird scientist person, get us here?" Chelsea asked, clearly curious.

"Helix Labs is well-known for high tech science, and they have been working on... multiversal tech, but I never realized they FINISHED it, much rather use it... I do wonder, though. Helix Labs stopped experimenting on subjects 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 ago. Why now, and why people from other universes?" Aaron said, half to himself.

"Why did they bring you here? You're not from another universe, so it's evident they aren't JUST kidnapping people from other universes." Kat asked now, curious and also a little bit anxious about this. What she saw in the Kaiju Crystal... If that was another timeline... then...

Kat's trail of thought was broken as Aaron said "Now that's the part I'm not sure about."

For a few minutes, the three of them were quiet, until Chelsea broke the silence. "What... What is it like in another universe? Like... What kind of... world do you live in?" She asked Aaron.

"Well... There are a few more races than humans, and we all live pretty peacefully... but other than that, that's basically it." Aaron responded.

"Can you tell us about the other races?" Chelsea asked.

The three of them talked for a little while, talking about how different their universes were, and what other possible universes out there could be.

But... Kat couldn't stop thinking about that Kaiju Crystal... Was that another universe... or could it be the future...?
