Liam followed Harry out of the room, sending Louid a slightly apologetic glance for leaving him to deal with the argument. But he wasn't really all that sorry. He knew that Harry was upset right now, and needed someone to talk to. Soneone who wouldn't make him talk thinhs through, someone who would just be there for him. He had seen the emotion n Harry's face before he stormed out, and it wasn't a foriegn one to him. He would be better at dealing with it than most.
Liam found Harry in the guest room, face down on the bed. He wasn't crying, but from where he was and the position he was in, it was obvious that he was upset. Liam took a seat next to him on the bed, placing a hand on his sholder.
"Are you okay Haz?"Liam used the nick name Louis had always used to calm Harry, but rather than relaxing, Harry began to shake.
"I don't know whoch hurt worse." Harry's voice was shaking. "That Zayn was so convinced It could never be real or that Niall was so convinced of somethng that could never happen."
Liam rubbed Harry's sholder gently, remembering how fragile Harry could be. He always tried to stay strong for everyone, especially Louis. But Harry was still young, and the pressure was a lot for him to handle. Sometimes, it got to the point where the smallest thing could break him. If you didn't know what To say to Harry, It was often the best idea to go get Louis, who knew everything about the younger boy and bever failed to cheer him up. But Liam didn't have that option right then. Louis was the one breaking Harry this time, though it had been Zayn and Niall to push him past the breaking point. Liam would have to deal with this one on his own. And he could thonk of only one way to keep Harry from thinking about Louis. He lay back next to Harry, putting an arm around the younger boy.
"I get it Harry. I like someone I shouldn't too." He admitted. Harry rolled over to face him, smiling tiredly. Even though he hadn't appeared to have been crying, their were bags under his eyes, Which were red and puffy.
"I know. I saw the way you looked at Zayn last night." Harry smiled, and somehow the gesture conveyed his sympathy for Liam Even more than any of his words could have.
Liam rolled over so he was staring straight at the ceiling. "But Niall was braver than me. I guess the early bird gets the worm."
Harry lulled Liam closer to comfort the boy. Their situations weren't all that simular in the grand scheme of things, but they were simular enough that they knew the best way to comfort the other was just to be there. To understand, and to keep them from breaking down into tears.
"That's exactly how I feel about Eleanor. That maybe if I had told Louis how I felt before they met, I would've had a chance." Harry admitted. "But the simple facts of it are, it wouldn't have mattered. You and I Liam, we never had a chance. We were doomed from the start. But that dosent mean it hurts any less when reality hits."
Liam couldn't agree more. They had done their best, and when that didn't prove to be enough, there really wasn't anything else they could do. So Liam took small solace in Harrys arm around him, and though Harry would have much preferred to feel Louis rams wrapped around him than to be wrapping his arms around Liam, he tried to find comfort too. And while neither boy would ever like the other the way they did certain others, they made a bond that night that was very strong, and that fact wouldn't go unnoticed for long.

"Where do you think Harry and Liam ran off to?" Louis was pacing the family room as Zayn and Niall Sat on the couch, holding hands awkwardly. It was pretty obvious that they weren't in love, But Louis was too worried about hid best mate to bother correcting them.
"You haven't even looked for him." Zayn pointed out. Secretly, he was greatly enjoying the warmth of Nialls hand in his own. He had wanted this for so long, but the fact that Niall hated the feeling did dull his happiness significantly.
"If he wants to be alone, I'll respect that, unlike Liam." Louis spat at Zayn, who vould tell he was upset that Liam had been the one to ho off and comfort Harry. But Zayn also knew it was probably a good thing that Louis had not been the one to find Harry after he stormed off. That couldn't possibly end well.
"If he's with Liam, he isn't alone." Niall pointed out. Louis stopped pacing to stare at the Irish boy and a grin spread across his features.
"Thanks Niall. You two," Louisiana gestured between them. "Don't stop doing that."
Louis rushed off the stairs to find his best friend and quite possibly Liam also. Niall turned to look at Zayn, who was gently rubbing circles on his hand.
"How's that for Larry proof?" He challenged. Zayn was about to respond when Louis came hurtling down the stairs, grabbing his keys off the ring by the door. It seemed rather agitated, and as he slammed through the door, he called out behind him to the couple n the couch.
"I'm going to Eleanors!" And then he was gone. Zayn turned to look at Niall.
"That proof enough that Larry isn't real?" And Niall could only shrug, not having an explanation.
