Harry woke up safely cuddled in Louis' arms. He cherished the feeling for several seconds before the events of the day before came crashing down on him. Louis had left. Zayn had come in. He had cried, and rambled. Zayn had listened, rubbing his back until he fell asleep. And Harry knew Zayn wasn't stupid. Between his sobbing ramblings and the timing of his breakdown, Zayn would have figured it out. And so Harry's new goal was to never be alone in a room with Zayn. He had no interest UN explaining his feelings, talking them out, or anything of the sort.
Louis shifted in his sleep, rolling closer to Harry who tensed. The older boy Let out a few incomprehensible mumblings before drifting back into sleep. Harry relaxed a bit, and managed to wiggle out from Louis tight grip, excusing himself to the shower. He loved waking up next to Louis, But he was sure it would only creep the older boy out.
Louis woke up a mere five minutes after Harry had left to an empty bed. This wasn't all that uncommon, as Harry was more of an early riser than he was, but this particular morning, it caused Louis a bit of panic. He had woken up from a nightmare of Harry's death to find Harry gone and much to his dismay, he began to cry.
Harry could hear Louis' sobs from the bathroom and cut his shower short to check on Louis. His hair was half washed and he had on only a pair of sweat pants when he rushed out of the room. Louis was still in bed, crying softly.
"Boobear, what's wrong?" Harry questioned, pulling the sobbing boy into a hug. Louis hugged back instantly, glad to be back in his best friends arms. He sniffles into Harry's shoulder as his sobs subsided.
"I thought you were dead." Louis admits. He feels Harry pull him tighter to his chest and one of the younger boys curls gently brushes past his ear. He shivers involuntarily, hoping with all his heart that Harry hadn't felt him tremble.
"Its okay Boobear." I'm not going to leave you." As Harry whispered those words if reassurance in Louis' ear, He wished the same coyld be said the other way. But soon, without a doubt, Louis would leave him for Eleanour, and Harry's heart would break. At least for now Harry coyld hold Louis tight in his arms. He tried not to think of how short of a time it would undoubtedly last.
Louis fell back asleep in Harry's arms, and the curly haired boy didn't have it in him to leave the boy alone in bed. So he snuggled up next to Louis and allowed himself to drift into a blissful state between sleeping and waking where Louis wasn't dating Elenor and would stay sleeping warmly in his arms forever.
And who would be watching this scene unfold in a'll of its deliciousness. It would be Zayn, who had Bern standing silently in the doorway ever since Louis had started crying. He had seen how tenderly the boys had stared into each other's eyes, how obviously involve they were. But Zayn didn't need to see that. The boys had told him themselves. What Zayn needed was for Liam to witness a scene like that so Liam coyld help him deal with the two hopelessly oblivious boys. But nope. Zayn not only was the one entrusted with secrets. He was the one who saw them in a action. So he got double proof while no one else had a clue.
He walked back down the stairs once he realised both Harry and Louis were fine, returning to the breakfast he had left in the middle of. Both Liam and Niall were watching him as he ate.
"Was Louis okay?" Liam asked. He was always the subtle one. Ask the question they're comfortable answering before moving onto tougher subjects.
"Are you okay?" Niall, however, had none of Liams patience or strategy. He saw something wad wrong with Zayn, he called him out on it.
Zayn smiled slightly at the look of annoyance in Liam s face. He ought to hire Niall to do that rather than making the poor Irishman work for free.
"Harry put Louis back to bed. I think he's fine, but you may want to ask one of them later. I've just had a lot on my mind lately." Zayn assured both Niall and Liam.
"You know you can talk to us about anything that's going on, right?" Liam reminded Zayn, who almost laughed at the irony.
"That's kind of why I have a lot on my mind. Because everyone remembers that I'm here for them." Zayn laughed a bit, but Liam didn't get it. It was an inside joke between Zayn and himself, that much Liam realized. And he began to wonder if that was a normal thing for Zayn and if he needed to go get the boys head evaluated. But he seemed to be doing just fine if he was crazy, so Liam decided it cc ould wait.
The rest mf breakfast was passed in silence as Zayn stared off into space, considering his predicament, Louis' predicament, Harry's predicament, what they should all do and jj ow Liam and Niall fit into everything. After a while, Niall and Liam excused themselves to go play games, but Zayn remained in hi is chair. He had a lot to think about. His cereal hot soggy in the bowl in front of him as he thought and thought. The only thing that lulled him away from his thoughts was when Harry and Louis came downstairs together. Being the kind and considerate lerson he is (and not wanting either boy trying to accuse him of spilling secrets while he was in the room) Zayn left the room while the couple ate, watching Niall and Liam play FIFA. Well not really watching so much as looking at . The screen as he remained deep in thought. There was just too much going on in his head. And the crowded space that was his brain was about to get even more full.
