Yet again, hope you enjoy the next chapter!————
Wei Wuxian's POV:
It's been a couple of days since I've went back in time, I still don't know how it happened or what could have triggered it to happen, but all that doesn't really matter as of right now because... 'IM GETTING CHASED BY DOGS!!''Sob- why? What has my life come to...' those huge beasts were getting faster and smarter the longer this went on. 'Aren't they supposed to be pissing on trees or something?!' I mentally screamed.
As they started to catch up I began crying and frantically tying to get someone's attention. No matter how many people we on the streets all they did was ignore me. Why would they try to help a homeless child on the streets, what gain would they get from it...
They never tried to help, knowing they wouldn't get anything out of it.
One of them lunged at me and ended up bringing me to the ground with it. I struggled against the dog as the others got there. Eventually, by some miracle I was able to make it out before anything injury to deadly happened.
'Having a few scratches and bite marks are nothing. All I want to do is be able to get away from them.' I was sobbing hysterically in my mind, not really any better on the outside. As I tried to calm my self down I turned down an alleyway only to see that it was a dead end. 'Just my luck..'

Xie Lian's POV:
Me and San Lang were in the mortal realm to investigate increasing amount of resentful energy that had shown up recently. We were in a town called Yiling. It had a significant increase in resentful energy over the past couple of days and the heavenly officials were getting worried. After a certain amount of time and waiting they could not take it and sent someone to the mortal realm to check it out, I ending up as that person. San Lang came with me as always. "Are you hungry, Gege?" I heard San Lang ask. I looked over to see where he was pointing, it was a restaurant.
It seemed well built. Probably for young masters and madams from big families and clans. "I mean, I guess but I can wait a little-" I was trying to say that I could wait a little while longer to eat but he had already grabbed my hand and I was already being dragged to the restaurant. I internally sighed not knowing whether too laugh or cry.

3rd POV:
As Xie Lian and Hua Cheng left the restaurant they started heading down the streets of Yiling.Seeing many people quietly whispering to one another and looking around as if trying to find something they wanted to avoid definitely unsettled the couple. (Well really it just unsettled Xie Lian but yeah OvO)
One look from one another and they silently agreed to find out why the people were like that while they continued their original job. As they were walking thought Yiling Hua Cheng had suddenly felt an increase of the resentful energy and was able to tell his beloved over a Communication Array that he had created for the two of them.
Wei Ying had been able to get away from the huge beasts for enough time to gather some resentful energy to enhance the speed of healing the wounds. Even though it would hurt just as much as it would when it was open, if not more when it was covered by a lair of skin so it could heal without getting infected. (basically a lair of skin that covers the wound quickly so that it is not noticeable and so it can't get infected.)
The only down sides to this was it would put him in much more pain, and quiet unlikely but could still happen, getting caught by someone if they could sense the well trained resentful energy coursing through him.
Speeding though the alleyways he thought after the first time of getting stuck at a dead end he would remember not to do it again yet as luck would have it, he ran into yet another dead end.
Realizing that he wouldn't be able to get out of this one as it was too narrow he froze. Completely.
Slowly turning around to face wild dogs, he let out a loud cry when one pounced on top of him accidentally releasing a lot of resentful energy.
After realizing what he had done, he knew that even if they weren't cultivators, they would still know that there was a lot of resentful energy and people would start to freak.
Somehow dodging the first dog he ended up tripping on a rock and tumbled to the ground.
As a result of this he winced in pain and curled up into a ball to make himself seem smaller then he actually was and to attempt to hide his vital areas.
Out of the corner of his eye he watched as the pack of dogs lunged at him when all of a sudden...
Xie Lian and Hua Cheng ran through the crowd of people and through alleyways. After multiple twists and turns and coming to many dead ends they were able to find where all the resentful energy came from, in the process finding what was causing screams to fill the air.
Xie Lian froze in his spot, it for sure wasn't a fierce corpse let alone anything dead or undead. It was a child.
The dogs were surrounding him as he curled in on himself trying to protect himself somehow resentful energy surrounding him and keeping the dogs at bay for the time being.
Xie Lian looked up to his husband as they made eye contact. His husband could get through the resentful energy without being harmed, unlike Xie Lian who would get tiered and ran the risk of passing out.
Understanding what his beloved was asking he immediately walked over to the child and passed the dogs, one glare from him was enough to send them running for their lives with their tails between their legs.
Wei Wuxian still trembling violently and all he did was curl up further into himself, still sobbing but a lot quieter then before.
Both Hua Cheng and Xie Lian seemed to notice that all the child did was curl up further into himself, probably not realizing that the dogs were gone.
The resentful energy was slowly dropping down and Xie Lian was able to walk up to him without being harmed in any way.
"Hello little one." Xie Lain spoke quietly as to not scare the child any more then he already was. Yet he seemed to not notice that anyone was taking to him, seemingly still to frightened to realize that he was being talked too.
Bending his knees, Xie Lian gently grabbed the shaking child. Noticing that his breath hitched and he stiffened up before relaxing and latching onto him and sobbing even more.
"Gege" Hua Cheng called out lightly.
"Hm?" Xie Lian turned to look at his husband.
"We should start looking for the reason why resentful energy was clinging onto this mortal child."
"Indeed, we should get going-"
Xie Lian stopped mid sentence and looked down to the kid in his arms, who suddenly grew extremely warm. Raising the hand that was resting on the child's back he set it on his forehead only to find out that he was burning up.
"San Lang, He is burning up!" Xie Lian said gently with lots of worry seeping through his voice.
Hua Cheng looked down to the child in his beloved's arms glaring slightly by the amount of attention he was getting from his lover, but seeing the distress his beloved was radiating he sighed quietly. "We should find an inn that we can rest in for a while, hopefully his fever will go down." Hua Cheng grumbled lightly.
Xie Lian with Wei Wuxian still in his arms, and Hua Cheng waking right next to his lover, they all made their way down the streets of Yiling looking for an inn, Wei Wuxian who was exhausted after all the crying and his high fever ended up falling asleep.
