It had been a week since Wei Ying started living in the shrine at Puqi village, so far he had been having the time of his life.
Eating and bathing everyday, getting to play all he wanted, not get chased by dogs. He was really enjoying it.
Both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng already knew of his fear of dogs when the took him in but they also found other things that made him uncomfortable or scared.
They found out that he had nightmares almost every night. Some of things that they found out would make him uncomfortable was, him being alone, and sleeping alone. When he slept alone his nightmare tended to get worse. Which normally ended up in him waking up crying, screaming, and drenched in sweat, worst case scenario would be him hyperventilating and having panic attacks. He was easily frightened by loud noises and sudden touches.
No matter how worried they were he refused to tell them what his nightmares were about, all he would do was laugh nervously and shrug off their concerns. Telling them he was fine and not to worry.
No matter how many things Hua Cheng told Xie Lian he refused to mention anything about the occasional times when resentful energy would seep out of Wei Ying as some sort of defense while they slept. Almost as if it were protecting him from something... or someone.
It looked like it was harming Wei Wuxian but umber closer inspection it was simply surrounding him. Any time Hua Cheng sensed it he would immediately dispel it, getting rid of it quickly enough so that it wouldn't wake up his beloved.
Besides all of that they wold play and talk, they found out Wei Ying loves is babas cooking and loves spicy food.
Sometimes he would help his baba cook and when he got his portion he would dump all kinds of spices into his own food. To any one else it would probably lead them to pass out, foaming at the mouth or just die right then and there. But somehow he would eat it with out batting an eye.
They were currently walking around the village Xie Lian wanting to help out while anything that he picked up was immediately grabbed from his hands by Hua Cheng.
Any time this would happen Hua Cheng would give a charming smile and say 'Gege, let me carry this for you.' Before he turned away so that Xie Lian had not time to refute.
To Wei Wuxian it really was a funny sight. Two grown men, one clearly trying to hide his smugness from his lover while the other one had a slight pout on his face trying to get his husband to look him in the eye.
He had been having a lot of nightmares so seeing this from his parents was a nice get away from the reality that would happen sooner or later. The reality of them finding a fault in him and leaving him.
But it has yet to happen so he will enjoy it while he can. Enjoying the feeling of being loved, enjoying the feeling he never really got much of a chance to feel for all he was capable of doing was giving to much love and ruining trust.
Wei Wuxian shook his head to get rid of the thoughts that seemed to be clouding his mind to the point that he almost stopped walking.
Xie Lian and Hua Cheng soon realized that Wei Wuxian had slowed down a bit but they turned around only to see him shake his head and run up to them.
