Totally not my family 🤭
The amount of times this has happened so many times I've lost count 😅

I had a 100 word French formative that I had to finish within a class period today (the day I started writing this chapter) as well as a math quiz... I'm dead inside but the show must go on

Hope you enjoy!!

It didn't take the couple long to find an inn. It was pretty decent, it was clean and was clearly built to hold non cultivators, rogue cultivators and cultivators from sects alike.

In other words it was meant to hold everyone.

They rushed in, normally Xie Lian would be worried about how expensive it may be but he was to distracted as the child in his arms had passed out from exhaustion and his fever. He was more worried about the child.

The middle aged inn keeper looked at Xie Lian with a harsh glare, seeing that his clothes weren't of the best quality and had a child that was in rags in his arms. Xie Lian had gotten this look may times before and just ignored it as he usually had.

While Xie Lian ignored it, his husband was a completely different story. Hua Cheng was glaring just as hard if not harder at the person.

Even if he was in his 'San Lang' appearance he was still able to scare the inn keeper who had glared at his beloved.

When the inn keeper at the desk saw how Hua Cheng was dressed he his attitude did a complete 180. Only for him to freeze up when he made eye contact with the young man who looked like a super rich, spoiled, young master.

Hua Cheng had looked the inn keeper in the eyes just smirk in victory as they froze up and started trembling.

"We would like a single room and some water. Quickly." Hua Cheng spoke quite harshly, his voice showing no room for argument.

"T-this way t-then. Y-you can pay a-after y-you've settled i-in." The middle aged inn keepers voice shook just as much as his body as he grabbed a key to a room and led them to it.

"Thank you." Xie Lian kindly answered and followed the inn keeper, while Hua Cheng only gave him a sharp glance before looking over and following his lover.

"I'll b-bring y-you the w-water bowl a-and a rag i-immediately" The inn keeper spoke before hastily running out of the room.

Even though Xie Lian was confused he took the child to the bed.

Xie Lian tried a could of times to get the child to let go of his clothes but to no avail, Wei Wuxian was holding on to tightly and Xie Lian did not wish to just the already injured child.

After giving up on tying to get the kid off of himself there was a knock on the door that followed in which Hua Cheng opening the door. The trembling inn keeper stood there holding a bucket of water and some rags.

He shakily handed the things to Hua Cheng who was still glaring at him before running off saying that he had to do something.

Turning back around to Xie Lian, Hua Cheng's face softened. After a few seconds Xie Lian finally spoke. "San Lang, can you please go pay the inn keeper? I'll watch over the child."

Hua Cheng softly hummed before setting down the rags and the bucket of water and walking out to pay the inn keeper.

When Hua Cheng left Xie Lian was able to shift Wei Wuxian just enough to get the soaked rag onto his forehead.

Hua Cheng eventually came back with a foxy grin on his face. The second Xie Lian saw his face he knew his husband had done something.

"San Lang...what did you do..." Xie Lian asked wearily.
