The cops showed up and arrested all the villains. The next day we made our way to the hero licensing agency to apply for a grant and to sign up Jose for a sidekick position. We all were there because they needed all our information when we applied for the grant. We were meeting with a consultant in her office.
"So Tacoman, I see you want to get a grant for a new office and hero gear. After last night, you meet the requirement. Your rank was 257,523 and now your rank is 249,893 congratulations." The consultant spoke in a monotone voice. They could tell she didn't care.
"What, only 249,893? We stop 25 villains that should bump me up more!" Tacoman said.
"Yes, it would have. But as you go up in rank, it takes more to go up. Now, about your agency grant, you need two more heroes to be eligible. Are any of you pros?" The women looked to the rest of Tacoman's team.
"No." everyone said.
"Lucky for you the hero test is today and you can apply for your license. Except for Steven and your new recruit, Jose. Sorry kids, but you need to be over 18 to apply for a license. So I will sign Ronnie, Sophie, and Andrew up for the pro heroes test." The woman began to type on her computer.
"Actually, I won't be signing up." Sophie said, looking down.
"What? Why not?" Andrew asked.
"I just don't want to." Sophie walked out of the office.
Andrew followed Sophie to the empty hallway.
"What's wrong? Why don't you want to be a hero? You can help people." Andrew took Sophie's hand.
"I am no hero. I almost killed a man because I was so mad and conflicted. I didn't even know if he was a villain or just a man doing his job trying to provide for his wife and kid, and before what Jose said stuck with me, when he said, 'If it saves someone, what does it matter?' How can I call myself a hero sending him down the wrong path and after watching Blackmist die and almost killing a man later for no good reason. I don't think I can do this anymore." Sophie looked defeated.
"Listen to me, you will be an amazing hero. We are learning and Blackmist wasn't your fault. I held you back. You wanted to fight and about last night you were in distress fighting with yourself. You will become a pro like you always wanted. You can help people." Andrew spoke gently, holding her hand.
"I don't even want to be a pro." Sophie took her hand back and turned away.
"What are you talking about? You want to help people." Andrew was getting frustrated.
"There is more than one way to help people." Sophie said, looking back to Andrew.
Andrew walked forward and took her hand. "Look, I believe in you, do whatever you want to do, but I think you have what it takes to be a pro, but it is up to you.'' Andrew kisses her on the top of the head. "I love you, you will do great no matter what you do." Andrew goes back into the office.
"Is she going to take the test?" Steven asked Andrew as he entered the room.
"I don't know." Andrew replied.
"But we need her! We need three heroes, Tacoman, you and. . . ." Steven said.
"Me." Ronnie interrupted.
"Yea, you." Steven patted Ronnie on the shoulder. Steven looked at Andrew.
"So about your sister."
Sophie walked back into the room. "I will take the test so we can get the grant. But I don't know if I will stay a hero."
