"Hyejin-ah" he sort of stuttered "I-i'm-... I didn't know. I'm sorry" he saw her expression change completely
She tried to hide behind a smile, but she was never good at lying "oh, i see" despite of her efforts, her complexion looked dark "that's okay! It doesn't matter anyway"
"Hyejin, no, wait" Hoseok tried to stop her before she walked away but seeing her like that, he knew he had to give her some space.
"Let's go back!" she she cheerfully said without even looking at him.
Seokjin's birthday party. What everyone had thought to be a success only stuck as a dreadful night for the young girl.
Everyone had been getting along quite well, maybe with a bit of help from the alcohol Hoseok and Jimin managed to sneak in, but regardless, it was a peaceful event.
Yongsun, in her attempt to avoid the youngest from drinking, ended up drinking too much herself.
Yoongi, surprised that he wasn't included on the mischievous plan made it his mission to ensure the other two would not savour the fruit of their hard work.
Namjoon served as a mediator between Wheein and Taehyung, after pointing out all the similarities in their taste and such leaving the two spend most of the night talking nonstop.
Jimin, not even realizing that his hyung had not served him a drop of alcohol, had been cheerfully chatting with pretty much everyone at the party.
Seokjin felt pretty weird at how enjoyable it was around so much people; specially such loud people. But after all, they were his friends, and seeing all of them interaction so easily just made sense.
Hyejin, after a few cups of juice mixed with a bit of whatever alcohol remained, also felt herself being more cheerful and outgoing than usual. She had been comfortably talking too and being in such a warming environment made her feel more confident.
But now she only felt like tearing up.
Everyone around her, oblivious of what had just happened, was still having fun even Hoseok seemed to have just brushed it off and go on as if her heart hadn't shattered.
She cursed at herself for letting herself be influenced by such momentary confidence rush. The night that everyone recalled fondly was only a short-lived moment of happiness before utter misery.

"Hyejin-ah" Wheein yelled as their friend walked towards them "why didn't you wait for me?" She softly slapped the young girl's arm as she took of her earbuds
"AH! You almost make me drop it!" She glared at her
"Mwo? What's with that look? I'm the one that should be angry!" Wheein proceeded to explain her outrage
"You brat, it's too early for all of this nonsense" Byulyi, seeing how Hyejin wasn't really in the mood tried to stop her friend.
"Why aren't you go with your boyfriend?"
"Are you kidding me? That's even more nonsensical" Byulyi scoffed, separating the other two "just go to class"
She just nodded and pat Wheein's head at her complaints but simply walked to her own class.
Truth was, after that night she'd been feeling pretty confused.
She was sure the alcohol wasn't taking effect on her conscience but no matter how she looked at some events on that night, they didn't seem normal or to make much sense.
Right now, the succession of events was hazy, but she was certain of one thing; he said he missed her and he kissed her. HER HAND. NO. Two things? No, the second could've just been her imagination.
