𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟑

"What happened? Where am I?"

The night was cold and tough to go through all though. It was creepy I could hear things creaking in the distance.

"You're safe, (y/n)."

"Sasuke what happened to Kenji and other samurais."

"They were defeated by us."

"Did you kill..." I trailed off

My arms clasped around my knees and my head buried in my thighs

"Kenji? No, he escaped but why show compassion towards an enemy?"

"I don't know. Empathy I guess"

"Mirai-"

"She left us behind to reach village sooner."

The fire was as hot as lava it burned the core of my soul. Bright yellow-orange, flames danced, and flickered knowing they were being watched by us. The fire was a dragon roaring with fury and spitting charcoal, with the immense heat that slapped my face. 

The crackling of burning woods and the smell of it filled in the air.

"You hesitated."

"What do you mean?"

"When he was trying to manipulate you. You hesitated. You had second thoughts." Sasuke replied staring at me.

I let out a shaky breath "I don't need to answer your questions."

"Is it because of him? That samurai? Were you messing around with that enemy?"

I jolt up from the dirt. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"I don't understand, we guys seemed close. He did everything he could to take you back."

"Because it was his duty. I was just a responsibility to him. A task. And what if we were close? Why do you care?"

"Because I promised to protect you, I don't want you to develop feelings for some enemy from a foreign land."

I scoff rolling my eyes "protect me? You have always pushed me away. When things started to get better between us, when I started trusting you, you just discarded my feeling and pushed me away. You can't simply come around after a year and pretend as if you care.."

"You're never going to forgive me, are you?"

"Where has it ever gotten me?"

Heartache.

"I know your feeling for me must have faded by now..."

Sasuke... You're wrong...

My feelings for you never faded.

And perhaps they never will...

"And you have moved on.."

No...

I love you so much that it hurts...

with each bond crumpled, I grew more frightened to mend new ones. 

I want to weaken the bond I share with sasuke, I can’t keep breaking my heart, repeatedly, hoping someday he would come around.
