2. A Promise

After the doctor checked her, he told Namjoon to be careful as it's not good for her to skip medicine as she still isn't healed properly.

Namjoon already knew she's skipped her meds on purpose. But only he knew how harmful is that for her health.

He sat near her bed taking her hands in his own.
He still remember the day she was brought in a very miserable condition.

*** Flashback***

Namjoon's Perspective

It was a nice summer evening. I was enjoying the weekend with my family and my little cute puppy 'Kuro'. Dad went out for some snacks.  All of sudden,it started raining and the power went off. Mom left saying that she's gonna light some candles. Just then then I heard the doorbell ring, must be dad. I opened the door only to find my dad carrying Y/N.
She's covered in dirt and darker bruises, clothes slightly torn and busted dry lips.

Tears rolled down my eyes.
They called the doctor who revealed that my love has been harrassed both emotionally and physically. The moment she woke up she started screaming and throwing stuffs to everyone who tried to calm her.  I tried to get close to her when she threw a vase towards my direction. I dodged it but got a small but deep cut near my left eyebrow. That is when the doctors injected her putting her to sleep. Dr. Min explained her condition to us.
Doc : "Try to be careful and patient with her. It seems that she doesn't feel safe when anyone trying to touch her. It's the symptoms of Haphephobia. Also her scars says something worse. Namjoon dear, I know you're worried about her but try not to pressure her to open up until she's willing to. Try to make her feel safe and loved. I believe you have the will to give her the shelter she's looking for. I heard her mumble your name asking to save her from someone."

Nj: "I promise you Aunt Min. I'll protect her from everyone and everything that dared to hurt her."

Doc: "And there you go. In a few days your wound will be fine. I'm glad you didn't get hurt severally.
I'll take my leave. And yeah your cousins are leaving soon. They're all expecting you to join them."

She said after treating her nephew's wound.

Nj: "I don't know Aunt Min. I can't leave Y/N alone."

Doc: "I know son. Don't worry I explain to them. I see you love her a lot. I'm glad you're such a great soul."

Mr. Kim: "Thanks a lot sis. Sorry for ruining your weekend."

Doc: "It's my duty brother. It's what I signed up for. Take care of her and yourself too."

Mr. Kim: "See you soon sis."

With that she left. I knew mom's angry because of the wound but she didn't say anything about as we knew it wasn't Y/N's fault. All I could do was to wait for her to wake up.
We had the slightest bit of idea to what might have happened to Y/N. But only she could tell what exactly happened and who dared to hurt her in such a brutal way.

Nj: "Dad, where did you find her?"

Mr Kim: " She suddenly ran infront of my car" he said rubbing his face in complete distress.

I couldn't hold my tears. Mom hugged me tightly trying to calm me down. I was feeling a sharp pain in my heart.

After almost six hours Y/N woke up. Luckily she was a bit calm but when my mom tried to approach her, she panicked and tried to run out of the room. I was quick to get a hold of her and hugged her tightly. She was hyperventilating. She was screaming badly, really hard. I couldn't hold my tears back.

Nj:  "Y/N, my little, please come back to me. I promise to protect you from everyone and everything. Please stop hurting yourself. Please . I'm here for you."
Y/N: " You won't hurt me right?
You'll never leave me alone. Promise me that." She screamed in agony.

NJ:  "I will. With all my might. I promise. Trust me."

Y/N : '' I'm hungry J-joon. I-I d-didn't get a-anything to e-eat the whole w-week. T-They m-made m-me
d-dir......"her voice cracked and she choked on her sobs and tried to tried to claw her skin as if she wanted to peel it off.
I held her tight and rubbed her back in a soothing manner, making her calm.
I didn't ask anything.
I just couldn't. For the first time in my life, I felt completely weak.

She only talked to me otherwise just gave a nod to everyone.  I fed her putting her back to sleep.
She didn't want to open up about the incident so I didn't push her much.

I slept on the chair bedside her bed. I didn't leave her as she held my hand in hers tightly.

'They'll pay for this. I promise you my 'little', I mumbled closing my eyes.

Namjoon laid her in her bed cover her with a duvet. He didn't want to leave her alone so he slept on the couch.
