19. His Date

3 months passed since the night.

It changed many things. All of the seven boys, and even between the
two best friends.

Mr Sampson no longer visited the condo. Seokjin's father called off the engagement, not because the truth was out but because of the hurt and betrayal he saw in their sons eyes that he had caused.

Namjoon and Y/N got into a heated argument because Jimin accidentally spilled about how Mr Sampson and Derek abused her. It took them more than two weeks to make up.

Madam Sampson was the only person who was able to keep the atmosphere cool. It was hard for her too. At least that's how it looked like.
Mr Sampson did everything he was able to make his daughter give upon the company. But the Kim family well protected her from her own father.

On the other hand, Seokjin genuinely apologized to Y/N for his past harsh words and actions. They turned out to be another goofballs.

Taehyung was the only one who would often crash into the condo. He said that he needs to protect 'His Noona'.
Yoongi was still the same. It was like he found himself a perfect bickering partner.

All of the boys came to know about Namjoon's feelings for his 'Little' lover but were absolutely warned not to reveal. They were all very upset but decided to respect their brother's decision.

It was a week before the Christmas Gala. The kind that all the big business tycoons from the all around the country were eagerly waiting for.
Mr Sampson had invited all of his business partners and the other promisingly rising, bigshot riches. He was a man known for his ravish lifestyle.
Everyone knew about his deceased wife and child. They also knew that he was engaged to another woman but didn't get married because of some family issues.

No one knew how Y/N looked like in real life. They all had only heard the name. Because of the will of his deceased wife 'Isabelle Sampson',
Mr Sampson was unable to marry his current fiancée, also couldn't introduce 'Laura and Derek' officially to anyone.

Madam Sampson was pretty busy with the preparations for the Gala.
She decided it was time for their real heir to be introduced to the business world.

Y/N was in the Kim mansion, waiting  for Namjoon. Namjoon said he wanted to to share something important with her. Y/N offered to help Mrs Kim bake some chocolate muffins. She wanted to ask Namjoon to be be her date for the ball.
Mrs Kim was surprised and happy to see the new changes in her. She was very happy that her son is finally going to get a girlfriend.

"Aunt, do I look fine? I don't want him to tease me. We need to go shopping too. I don't have a single dress gown for the ball." She was sulking.

Mr Kim just squeezed her cheeks and said, "Calm down love! If you are too much worried, about then you can ask Yoongi, Jin or the maknaes to join.
The more the merrier!"

"No, not and never. Those sneaky rascals.........." She suddenly lost her voice seeing her best friend in the hall. She smiled and picked up a muffin and was about to call him but couldn't find her voice when she saw another person behind him. A beautiful woman to be exact.

Mrs Kim followed her gaze and frowned at the young woman beside her son. Mrs Kim raised her eyebrows towards her son and asked "Care to introduce your guest, son?" She definitely didn't like the idea of any other girl beside her son except for Y/N.

Namjoon gulped at his mother's angry stares. He saw Y/N coming from behind his mother.
"Hey Joon, you brought a guest!" She gave him a small smile, trying to keep the atmosphere light.
The new woman seemed to be annoyed by her but didn't forget to give a good impression for the first time when meeting new faces.

"Oh! I'm very sorry for not introducing myself.  My name is Claire. Claire McTaggert. I'm am
Namjoon's partner for the ball.
I hope you don't mind me calling you Aunt, Mrs Kim." Claire replied with a sweet smile which didn't reach her eyes.

"It's Ma'am for you, Ms McTaggart."
Mrs Kim shifted her gaze to her son who was busy fiddling with his fingers.

"You didn't tell me you are dating, son."

"I-I....m-mom.." Claire again spoke in between, "Aunt Kim, it's just because we have been dating only for week."

Mrs Kim was surprised at Claire's persistent behaviour.
"Firstly, it's Ma'am for you and
second, I am talking to my son and not you. So I assume you get the memo to be quite and not speak in between."

"Aunt Kim" Y/N spoke in a small voice, "I must leave now. Thanks for your help." Y/N gave her apologetic smile.

"But love, didn't you need......" Y/N didn't let her finish her words,
"Thanks for helping me baking. The maknaes would love those."
She hugged her and kissed her cheek and wishpered goodbye. She went to the kitchen and packed the muffins leaving some of them for his best friend. 

She came back and found Mrs Kim was nowhere in sight.
She smiled at Claire and took a glance at Namjoon.

"Goodbye Namjoon" she said and quickly rushed out of the mansion.
Namjoon gulped visibly and felt a strong pang in his heart.

Namjoon took a deep breath and dragged Claire into the lawn.
"What was that Claire?" Namjoon's face was completely shimmering in anger.

"What do you mean, Joon?" Claire replied with an innocent smile.

"You clearly know what I actually mean!" Namjoon clenched his jaws tight.
"I never said we are dating. How dare you talk to my mom like that? And why the hell are you suddenly calling me Joon!"

Claire squinted her eyes and asked,
"And why was that girl here earlier
was calling you like that. You said you are single then why did she behave like I'm a home-wrecker."

Namjoon rubbed his temple and spoke, "That is nothing for you to be concerned about. I only agreed to let you court me. Nothing more. You can leave. I need to talk to my mom."

"Fine. I'm very sorry. See you later, bye."Claire replied in a angry tone and left.
Namjoon went back inside the house then to the kitchen only to find Mrs Kim gulping the last muffin on the plate.

"M-mom, that was mine."

"Not anymore. Go ask your girlfriend to make some for you!" Mrs Kim spoke nonchalantly.

Namjoon sighed, " Mom, we're not dating. She is just courting me. I didn't know she would behave like that."
She didn't say anything and kept cleaning the countertop.
Namjoon pinched his nose bridge and turned to leave but noticed one of the kitchen cabinets open. He found a brown package and took it out. He opened it and teared up seeing the muffins in it.

"You didn't tell me why noona came earlier!"

"She wanted  you to be Her Date"
Mrs Kim left the kitchen.

Namjoon stumbled back and slid down the counter wall. A warm smile crept upon his lips. The moment he's been waiting for since forever.

But then he remembered her hurtful eyes which were glistening moist when she called him 'Namjoon'.
A lone tear stained his cheek.
