"What?" Yukine exclaims.
"I thought it was just a myth. I didn't even make sense at the time but I guess I'm glad I read it." He sighs. "The story is about a young, magnificent human girl who fell in love with a Regalia. The two loved each other dearly but realized that as one aged, the other would not follow. It was like that in all situations. When the girl could see the Regalia, no one else could. While everyone got married and had children, the two lovers could not. They could not think of any way to be together, fully as one. Then one day, a medicine man came upon them. He was on the side of the street, trying to sell charms and potions to anyone who passed. When they passed him, he called out to them.
'Quite unfortunate position you two are in.' The couple stopped, for they were surprised. How could that man see the Regalia and not forget instantly? 'I have a solution to your problems.'
The human's eyes widened. 'A solution? Well tell us, sir. Please.' The man grinned an evil one.
'I will. But with a price.' They accepted and the man dismissed them, saying the time will come when he claims his pay. That day, the human girl was trampled by a horse and became a Regalia instantly. The girl had no god, which confused the other gods. How was this possible?
The girl and Regalia began to start a life together. The Regalia asked his god to take his lover in as his new Regalia. He agreed, tried, and failed. He tried again but failed, just as the time before. It soon became a sport. Whoever could name the Regalia girl would obtain endless power. The Regalia and the girl ran away together but one fateful night, a group of gods came into the hut they were staying in. Instead of trying to claim the girl, they murdered the Regalia right in front of her. Consumed with grief, the girl grabbed a cursed blade and slaughtered the minor gods." Kazuma finished with a frown. "No one knew where the blade came from or who it was for. But that sword is claimed to be the human's true Regalia form."
"So... I'm related to the human in the story? She's my ancestor?" You ask, slightly confused.
"It appears so." Kofuku mutters.
"But why doesn't Hiyori have this? Does she have do die first?" Everyone's eyes widen at the mention of Hiyori. Yato stands up, his chair crashing down as he walks toward you.
"How do you know Hiyori?" You move away from him.
"S-she's my half sister." Yato stands as still as a statue.
"Hiyori never told me she had a sister." Yukine states, walking over to you as well.
"That's because she never knew she had one. My mother was having an affair with my father. But she was ashamed so she hid it from Hiyori and the Iki family." You look out the window in annoyance.
"The curse may have skipped Hiyori and went to you." Kazuma answers your question.
"I want to go outside." You tell everyone suddenly. Kofuku pushes all the boys out of the room and shuts the door with a sigh.
"(Y/N), I'm sorry. I thought you were going to be happy being named but I just ended up hurting you even more. I really am the God of Misfortune." She laughs sadly. You slide out of the bed and hug her tight.
"Don't worry, Kofuku. I'm not hurt anymore." Kofuku wipes her tears then stands up.
"I'll let you get dressed though. Meet you downstairs." She shuts the door quietly behind her.
