The Epilogue

Ro sprinted deeper into the gardens, dashing around tree stumps and over flower beds. Finally he slid into a hiding spot behind a large bulbous flower that Cabbexev had imported recently. Cabbexev had told Ro the name, but it was rather long and complicated so he liked to call it the bubble flower.

He ducked his head and waited to hear Kaneor's footsteps chasing after him. After he didn't hear Kaneor coming he carefully poked his head up from behind the flower to search for his fluffy mate.

What he didn't know was that Kaneor had stealthily approached and was waiting just on the other side of the flower, his long fluffy tail flicking back and forth in anticipation.

As soon as Ro's curious eyes could be seen from behind the flower, Kaneor pounced and knocked down Ro.

"Caught you!!" Kaneor exclaimed while rubbing himself affectionately all over Ro.

The action sent Ro into a giggling fit, so when he finally caught his breath he responded.

"Y-you always catch me. Your nose is too good." Ro said with a grin.

Kaneor sat up as his chest puffed up in pride. Ro loved complimenting Kaneor. It was cute how he would get all proud and possessive afterwards.

Kaneor picked Ro up and started walking out of the garden. Ro struggled a bit trying to be let down.

"Kannneooooooor! I can walk by myself!" Ro pouted.

"But I like holding you much better." Kaneor said.

Ro blushed a bit and buried his face in Kaneor's neck.

As they walked through the house they saw Binny and Yug playing a game together in one of the rooms. Ro sat up and waved at them as they passed by.

Ro used to get sad every once in a while thinking about his old enclosure mates. He worried about them, about who they would be sold to. Cabbexev eventually took notice and decided that he had the time and money to rescue them.

They went back to the Dikplo pet traders and were able to come home with everyone except Babulya. She had passed on before they arrived. Ro sometimes still missed her.

Most of the other pets had moved on and started their own lives on pet-run planets. Binny and Yug decided to stay and live with them.

Kaneor sometimes got territorial when Yug would give Ro big brotherly hugs, but for the most part life together was wonderful.

Kaneor continued through the house until they reached the kitchen.

"Let's make something for Cabbexev together!" Kaneor told Ro.

Ro squirmed excitedly until he was let out of Kaneor's arms. Cabbexev had been teaching the two a little about cooking in their spare time. Ro was excited to show that he and Kaneor could do it all on their own and make something yummy for their lercix.

Cabbexev came home to the smell of hottoya, a savory dish made from grains, meat and cheese. Cabbexev was impressed with his pets' cooking skills, until he walked into the kitchen and found the mess that they had left.

"It looks like a bomb went off in here..." Cabbexev muttered to himself.

Ro came running up to him holding the dish that came from some sort of explosion apparently.

"We made hottoya for you!" Ro said.

"All by ourself." Kaneor stated proudly.

"Please try it!" Ro said as he held the dish up in front of Cabbexev.
