Yui Tosha had her path set since before even being born. Her mother, Haru, was never interested in anything but her sewing business, but as she grew older, she realized she'd need an heir to take over the business. And being infertile would not help with producing one so she did something a bit unorthodox by most people's standards. Haru Tosha went to a laboratory meant for infusing DNA and producing children.
After picking out certain physical traits she wanted in her heir, the porcelain skin, deep red hair, and unfamiliar amber eyes, an egg was placed inside Haru that she would carry for the next 9 months.
But as Yui was born, she never knew love. She knew manners, rules, sewing and ladylike physique. So when a certain surfer kept displaying affection for Yui, she'd never known what to do. So she ignored it and kept sewing.
She would sew until her fingertips were stained with blood and she knew sewing patterns even in her sleep. She had to make her 'mother' proud, after all.
But nothing could make her mother as proud as she was when Yui had been accepted into Success Granted High School. Of course she worried the boys would distract Yui but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Whether Yui wanted to or not, she'd be going.
