"Henri?! Get in here!" I called out, staring at the plastic stick in my hand.
He came running in as if he was ready to fight, and then stopped, looking at me. "What is it mon coeur? Are you hurt?"
I looked up at him, tears in my eyes. "I'm pregnant, Henri, you're gonna be a father. nous allons avoir un bébé", I exclaimed, tears springing freely and happily as I showed him the positive pregnancy test.
"nous allons avoir un bébé...oh, amour, I'm so happy, très très heureux!" He wrapped his arms around me, bringing me in for a soft kiss. His hand snaked around my waist to touch my still flat stomach. "je t'aime tellement, mon coeur."
"je t'aime tellement, amour", I murmured, kissing him again.
