Chapter 20

Cattaleya POV

"Mum I'm going o" I called out loud so that she could here.

"You won't eat?"

"I don't want to get late, bye Mum"

Another dreadful Monday for school. I really wish there was a day in between Sunday and Monday.

Normally, I'm always feeling lazy and tired about going to school on Monday's, right now I feel nervous. First, I have a boyfriend and he is Walter. Zara will be so happy to get the full gist.

I alighted from the bus and walked into the school compound that was full of students and cars.

As I settled down, a frowning Zara appeared in front of me and pulled me by my hand till we got to the back of the school.

"Did you do it?" She asked staring into a space.

"What do you mean?" I asked her back confused

"Did you tell my parents?" She said I little trickle of tears started falling from her eyes

"I don't.."

"You told my parents I drink and sometimes use drugs. Right?" She said still crying

I gasped, that was Zara's deepest secret and no one knew except me. I wouldn't have known if I didn't walk in on her using it.

"Zara listen to me, I didn't do it. I've kept that secret for the past 2 years so why would I tell them now." I tried explaining to her.

"No one knew, no one fucking knew except you. You were the only one that saw me using it and you made me promise I wouldn't use it again. My brothers never saw me. So how do you explain how my parents knew." She said still in tears.

"Zara it wasn't me, I swear"

"No need, I'm going to be changing environment next term. Till then avoid me Cattaleya" she wiped her tears and walked away.

I leaned against the wall crying. My best friend decides to leave me. I can't believe it.

During break time I sat alone. I decided to give Zara some space and I avoided Walter too.

Giovanni was walking towards my table, I was expecting him to sit down but he just walked passed my table.

Wow I didn't expect that. Walter dropped on the seat next to mine in the cafeteria.

"Babe have you been avoiding me?" He asked with a worried expression.

"I just needed space"

"Is it because of the kiss?"

"No I actually enjoyed it, but I'm not in the right frame of mind"

"Why? Where's Zara?"

"I don't know. I'm giving her space."

The bell rang for break over.
"We'll see after school" Walter said and walked out.

I didn't see Zara after break. I became a bit worried.

"Please everyone should report to the hall with their bags." The Senior perfect boy said and left the class.

I packed my books in my bag and left for the hall. They were searching all the students bags but I didn't know what they were searching for.

When it got to my turn. The male teacher opened my bag and brought out a black nylon. I can't remember that being there.

"I've found it" the male teacher that searched my bag told the other teachers.

"Everyone can go back to their class except from Cattaleya" I looked at the man with a confused expression. I still had no idea what was in the nylon.
I watched as all the students went back to their classes remaining me and the teachers that were searching.

"So you decided to bring your bad habit from home here?"

"Sir I have no Idea what you're talking about"

"That is how they pretend their innocent" a female teacher voiced out.

"Don't accuse her until we here from her" the principal said while entering.

"Cattaleya do you know what we found in your bag?"

"No sir"

"We found weed in your bag and you have been accused of selling it to some students, Chizaram included.

"No sir, I didn't do such a thing"

"I really want to believe that but the evidence says otherwise. So you will be suspended for 2weeks till we get to the bottom of the matter."

"Get your things ready, your mum is coming to pick you up"

My mind went blank. How could it be in my bag. I don't even know how to buy it. I feel so embarrassed right now.

Damn😔 Leya's life is going haywire. Zara isn't talking to her and now she was found with drugs. I feel for her.
