Walter decided to see his girlfriend, Leya after school because he had not really had the time to see her since her suspension.
He didn't know whether to believe she did it or not. He hasn't also seen Zara since Leya's suspension.
He knocked on Leya's house gate.
"Oga you won break my gate?(sir do you want to break my gate?)" The ruggedly dressed gateman asked him.
"I want to see Cattaleya"
"Oyibo, e be like say you miss road o( white boy it's like you have the wrong address)"
"No this is the correct house, I've dropped her here before." Walter started panicking maybe they have changed environment.
"Oga that name you dey call. Na American people kind of name o. The people wey they leave here na real Yoruba people them be( the name you called sounds like an American's name. The people that live here are Yoruba people)"
Mrs Adebayo had been on the verandah watching the exchange between the gate man and someone she couldn't see his face.
"Saraki, who is there?" She asked when she started getting tired of the noise.
"Madam na one oyibo, he say him dey find ca......ca.....caletya."
"Let him in" As Walter stepped in, her eyes widened at the realization.
No no no, this can't be happening. She silently said to herself.
"Good afternoon ma, please I'm looking for cattaleya. I just want to see how she's doing." Walter replied still standing outside.
"Come in" Mrs Adebayo said opening the door for him to enter.
"Ma I'm looking for..."
"I need you to do me a favour, go away from here. She said interrupting Walter.
"Ma, you can't stop me from seeing my girlfriend" Walter said not having intention of going back without seeing Leya.
"Your what?"
"My girlfriend"
"Mide, have you two lost your minds? Are you two mad"
"How did you know my native name?"
"You need to go now. I'll tell her you stopped by." She said after realizing she had spilled out the name without thinking.
"You know something about me. Do you know my sister or mother?"
"Get out now!!" She shouted and this sent Walter out of the house.
Immediately she left she picked up her phone and dialed someone.
"He knows"
"We have to tell them"
"Kemi would see me as a liar"
"We need to do the needful"
The line went dead and Mrs Adebayo sat on a couch and started crying.
