Chapter 14

Mercedes POV

I really didn't wanna go out with Reggie. I was still getting over Shane getting expelled after the Dean found cocaine in his dorm room. Which may I add was not my fault. And I can't stand Sam. All I want is the way we used to be. Reggie, I just want him to be my friend like he always has. No strings attached or anything, he was like my older brother that I could tell anything to. Now he's the brother that wants to date me? I just need to talk some sense into him that's all. Than this whole thing will go away like nothing happened.

FLASHBACK FRESHMAN YEAR

Reggie's POV

"Ok kids, you are some lousey, hormonal, weak young men" the dean screamed

I personally shit my pants. I have never been away from my parents for more than a week. I don't know how I'm gonna stand boarding school.

"Ok rats. Since you guys are going through puberty you need someone to hold you hand! So, I'm pairing you up with the boys in dorm b!"

He than pulled out pieces of paper to everyone before yelling at us some more about hormones.

"Uh, Dean?"

"Yes, son"

"Why do I have a girl" I asked which was followed by laughter

He than leaned in close and whispered "we got a note that your more comfortable with girls"

"Brotha I ain't gay!!"

"Son, we will figure it out tomorrow for now go meet Mercedes."

He gave me a stare, which got me on my way.

I knocked on the door and waited for a minute. I wasn't nervous at first, part of me was hoping she was ugly and another part was hoping she was beautiful so I could start this year out with a girlfriend.

A girl was soft curls answered the door. She wore a high waisted floral skirt and a white v neck with a cross hanging around her neck.

"You must be Reggie? She said in a small voice

"Uh ya ya ya....... ya"

"Ok so what are we supposed to do"

"I think we are just suppose to be friends, do you wanna go for a walk or something?"

"Ya, I'd like that." she said smiling

And in that moment I knew I had Fell in love with Mercedes Jones.

We left the dorm and made our way around the lake to the swings.

"So you seem like a goody goody, but what do you do for fun"

"Not much I'm usually locked in my room by my dad" she said leaning her head on her hands

"It's ok, my dad's kinda controlling too. He thinks that I'm gonna be this awesome football player, but i don't know." 

" Sorry about that"

There was a long akward silence before I spoke again.

"So you have a boyfriend?"

"Haha, no boys don't really like me like that" she said blushing

"I doubt that, so have you ever had a boyfriend"

she frowned at me before she answered " Are you asking me if I'm a virgin?!"

I hesitated and slowly said "yees....?"

"Uh, you are such a Jerk" she said getting up

"Hey it's a general question" I said running after her

"Oh ya, like me asking your dick size."

"Hey I would answer that"

she rolled her eyes before I spoke again

"Ok, I know why you didn't answer because you are one."

"What does it have to do with you?"

"Ok, look I'm sorry, if it makes you feel better I'm a virgin too"

"Ugh, why are we having this conversation"

"Because if we want to be friends we ask each other deep stuff right?"

"Ya your right"

"And I would hit that any day by the way"

"Thanks for being a friend for the day haha, maybe we can actually be friends"

"Ya sure"

And that's when I knew I had been friend zoned.
