26 ~ secret

RILEY'S POV

Chase's house, with Aria and Elijah, and Chase. We decided to do these things, check-ins where we talk about our feelings and stuff. I hate it. "Did anyone ever think you two were a couple?" Elijah asked as I and Aria whispered into each other's ears. 

"No, because we screw boys like whore's on tequila, or we did before Aria got knocked up and I got into a committed relationship." I reply, "that's, sad." Elijah says after taking moment. "Im an imperfect person can we get this over with?" "Yes, how are you feeling Riley?" Elijah asks, "What? Im feeling fine, I'm alive and all that, and my boyfriend came back from Italy and I have a secret sister im doing great." I say forgetting that I didn't tell Aria about my sister or Chase. 

"You have a what?" Aria asked, "if you have a sister does that mean I have another sister?" Chase asks while pacing, "That is how biology works Chase." "You didn't tell me?" he asks, "No, how are you feeling Aria?" I ask while smiling, of course, he'd be mad. "I am pregnant and engaged how do you think I feel, tired." "Great, now can we all go on with our lives?" I ask, "No you didn't ask me," Chase says. "Chase how are you feeling?" Aria asks before I can. 

"My sister didn't tell me about another apparent sister and my ex-girlfriend is knocked up by my best friend who she's also marrying but besides that, I'm fine how about you Elijah?" Chase asks, "I guess I'm the only one whos fine, I'm getting married and having a step-child I'm fine you guys need real therapists." He says before getting up, "I'll be in the car." He says before walking out of the front door. 

"I have a sister, really Riley you didn't think that was something to mention?" Chase begins yelling. "I am your sister, the other girl isn't our sister just some girl we share biology with." "Which makes her your sister god Riley you couldn't be more self-serving." I scoff at his words, "really?" I say before storming out of the door. 

self-serving, really? that's bullshit.

 It's not all bullshit but I don't mean to be self-serving I mean to protect him. I drive back to Marco's house, well our house, and go inside to him cuddled on the couch with Maybel. I stay quiet so he doesn't move, I sit next to him causing him to jump up. "Jesus fuck Riley." "You guys are very cute together, did you feed her?" "I did feed her because I am a good dad." "She's a cat, you aren't a dad."  "I am, a cat dad how did it go talking about your feelings."

"It's bullshit I don't talk about my feeling I stuff them down and seal it with tequila." "That's not healthy," "Marco, I'm not healthy," I say before giving him a quick peck on the lips.  "Am I wrong, for not telling Chase about my sister?" I ask, "You didn't tell him?" He says in a loud tone "You just answered my question but I'm not wrong I'm never wrong, you're wrong for calling me wrong," I walk into our bedroom and sit on the bed. 

I hear a knock from in the bedroom and go into the living room out of curiosity, oh my god. It's her, my sister I duck behind the couch praying to god she didn't see me. "Hello, is Riley here? Im Alejandra her sister." "Yes, she is Bambina." He screams. I slowly stand up, embarrassed. "Hello, what are you doing here?" I ask, "I want to talk out here, please." She begs, I deeply exhale before stepping outside. 

"I just want to know why you don't want to get to know me? Im your sister most people want a sister, I want a sister so why don't you wanna get to know me, what did I ever do to you?" She asks, with puppy dog eyes. 

"You didn't do anything, my life is great the way it is, my mom is gone somewhere and my dad is dead, I have a boyfriend a house, a niece, and a brother. So you didn't do anything you just not someone I ever wanna have to get to know, how did you get my address?" 

"I talked to Chase, he gave me this address." "That son of bitch." I say under my breath, "well stop coming back and talking to me or about me."  I say before going back into the apartment. "Marco when someone asks if I'm home, lie, say no," I say before hitting him on the arm. "Ow, how was I supposed to know?" "You just were supposed to know." 

"Im going to paint, you," Marco says before walking away, me? He's painting me. Eli comes in the door, "Hello, Eli." "Is Marco here?" "He's painting, me." "Oh, I'll wait I have something for him." He says before sitting on the couch. "What is it I can give it to him." "No I- I'll just wait." He seems nervous, "Eli just tell me." "I- I- I cant he asked me not to." "He's keeping secrets just tell me, please I'm saying please here I don't say please." "I can't Riley." What the hell is going on? "Eli, I will pat you down what is it?" He doesn't respond. 

I sit next to him on the couch, "You said I'm your family, do you lie to your family?" I ask, "No but I cant." "Whatever," I say before getting up and walking into the room. "Marco, Eli is here, with your secret whatever your secret is." He jumps up at my words and goes into the living room.

 "What's your super secret, secret?" I ask before going back into the living room. "It's nothing Bambina." "It's something, Marco." Eli opens the door and tries to walk out of it. "No, Eli come back what is it?" "Eli you can go," Marco says. "Eli no you can't," "Yes you can." Eli walks out of the door quickly. "Marco, what is it?" "A surprise." He says before kissing my cheek and walking away. 

"I hate surprises" I scream before picking up Maybel, "Your fake dad is a pain in the ass." I whisper to her, "I can hear you." "I know, that's the point what's the surprise?" "You'll know soon enough come in here." 

I go into the bedroom and sit next to him on the bed, "we're going to sleep." He says before pulling me into his chest, "for the record I am your knight in shining whatever." I smile at his words, "I guess you are." I deeply sigh before closing my eyes. 

It's the little things that add up and show we were meant to be together, forever.
