RILEY'S POV

I and Chase get to the diner that my mom wanted us to meet at, I sit down across from her. "I just wanted to let you know that five minutes with you after a life of nothing is not good enough and it'll never be good enough," I said while my eyes filled with tears. "I know honey, I'm sorry." "Sorry? You're sorry wow, you were a ghost for most of my life, and then dad was a ghost because of you so I had to raise your kid, and then things got so unbearable that living in my car was better than with you and dad," I say. "Riley," Chase mutters. "What Chase?" "She's our mother." "You guys always fought when you were kids, it made me happy that you had someone to protect and love you." My mom says while grabbing Chase's hand from across the table.

"Because we sure as hell didn't have you." I say looking at her, "my car got totaled and the house is about to be taken." She says looking back at me. "That's why you called, money. you have nothing anymore and now you need me again, well guess what dad raised me right he raised two amazing children while you were god knows where and if he taught me anything it's to never trust you, not like he did." I scoff and grab my purse before getting up, "Chase do you want me to wait for you?" I ask, "No I'll call an uber." I walk out of the dinner door gasping for air. What Chase said was right, everything is falling apart and I was holding onto that one thing Marco now it's all falling apart.

I should've never answered her call or followed through, I sit in my car and call Marco, "I need you right now uh come to m- my house please." I say as tears fall down my cheeks. "Okay, Bambina." I hang up the phone. I wipe my tears and drive home. I get to my front door and Marco's waiting there, "are you okay Bambina?" "I'm fine but I need to know about your marriage and then I need you to move in and teach me Italian." I open my front door letting us both in.

"Are you okay Riley?" Marco asks even more worried, "so will you?" I ask avoiding the question, "Are you okay?" He walks even closer to me, "Marco stop." He walks closer and then hugs me. Tears fall down my cheeks quickly, "Are you okay Bambina?" "No, Marco I'm not okay." I say while my voice cracks. "Tell me about your marriage." I say while wiping my tears, "not now." I sit on the couch and he sits next to me. "Just tell me now," he wraps his arm around me pulling me close to him, "Her name was Juliet and we loved each other then she slept with my dad and I divorced her but she never stopped chasing, she was at my house before you called she always comes back to my house when she comes home from business and I always tell her to leave."

"She slept with your dad, in Italy do you bring all the girls there?" "That's where we had our wedding." "So she slept with your dad after your wedding?" I ask, "No, but I didn't find out until months later." "Wow, that sucks so you'll teach me Italian?" I ask, "Yes I will."

An hour later there's a knock at the door, I get up from the couch where Marco's been teaching me Italian. I open the door to find Aria and Elijah, "Hello Elijah, and Aria what an unpleasant surprise." I smile opening the door to let them in. "Unpleasant really Riley?" Elijah said, "Elijah why are you here are you and Aria attached at the hip now?" Marco asked, Elijah, laughed at his words. "I didn't like how we left things," Aria said while walking closer to me. "We won't let a boy come between us, that's what you said then you get with a guy I previously slept with, and you slept with my brother but I let that slide," I say taking a step back leaving a big gap of space between us.

"I realize that now but, we've been friends forever." I laugh at her words, "you can't even find a good excuse for yourself Aria give it up call me when your in labor or don't ill see the baby when Chase has her and you and Elijah can live a happy married life away from me." I say while walking back over to the door "and Elijah for god's sake leave me alone like you said we're done over for good so leave," I open the door for both of them. "But Riley," Aria groans, I stop her.
