steve immediately stood up as eddie pushed me towards the boat, not wanting to waste ANY time.

steve's hand reached mine as i slowly got on, sitting down next to lucas and max.

i sighed as my knee started to shake a little because of the immense stress that had gotten into me.

nancy and eddie got on, with eddie wanting to sit down next to me but being unable to.

"i can't see it" i said to them as they all just looked at me.

"it's fine just swim us to the area we were in before-" eddie said as he was interrupted

"ITS FINE?" mike said in distress.

"y/n. where. are. those. powers?" dustin said, noticing mikes stress and also getting a little nervous.

i tried to focus on the water again as my eyes slightly teared up because of the lack of blinking.

"i cant-" i said, exhaling.

they all looked at me, slightly concerned as i just looked around my surrounding.

"it might be here, i'll check" i said quickly as i jumped into the water as quickly as possible.

it had now stricken me that el was stuck, and that she needed my help, but was i good enough to help if i can't even see the gate to the upside down.

my head submerged under water as i pulled myself up to the surface after i jumped in.

"Y/N-" max said as i looked at her, catching my breath and getting the wet hair out of my face.

i looked around the surface of the water which was slightly brownish, but still visible to see metres in front of you under the water.

"HELLO?" mike said as i quickly said.

"stay here" i said as i started to swim back under the water, this time to the river bed.

my eyes had already started stinging as i got deeper and deeper, and the pressure increasing caused my headache to come back.

what pills did nancy get me because they ARENT helpful.

i looked around the river bed, trying to find that vibrant red bump, until i saw something much like it in the distance.

i swam against the river flow, as my muscles slowly started aching, but i was still determined to get to the mysterious thing itself.

i was hoping it'd be the place eleven was stuck in, the upside down.

i swam against the river flow, with an excruciating pain in my head until i got to it.

i slowly swam up above it, not wanting to get inside and scare everyone in the surface in terms of my possible disappearance.

i laughed ont he water as my laugh muffled, before swimming up with the bubbles that had just come out of my mouth.

i broke the water surface, quickly catching my breath as my headache was now at its worst.

"HERE" i shouted as they all looked back and steve got straight to paddling the boat to me.

i kept myself above the surface as they slowly approached me.

"did you find it?" nancy asked as i nodded in response, they were still pretty far away but we were able to speak.

"good thing you found it..." steve said, grunting as he paddled as strongly as he could against the river flow.

(eddies pov)

we paddled slowly as dustin kept whispering to steve to hurry up although he had been struggling.

y/ns hair floated in the water as she waited patiently, she looked like she was in pain though but i didn't want to comment on it, i didn't want to anger steve and let him focus on his paddling.

"Y/N?" mike shouted, as we all looked out into the distance and saw a massive splash coming from the area where y/n was.

"where did she go?" i asked, already nervous.

"she just- disappeared..." max said, already tearing up.

"it's like something pulled her under" max added.

i looked at max and then back at the river as i thought about what could've happened to y/n.

"it's vecna" i whispered, realising.

"what?" steve said as he finally got there and stopped paddling.

"ITS VECNA" i shouted as the boat rocked slightly.

(y/n's pov)

i heard screaming from the distance.

the flat land on which i had been standing in was now filled with something that looked like black veins.

the red smog in the distance already told me i was in the upside down.

i looked around, trying to figure what direction to go to, but those blood curdling screams from the west already told me where to go.

i ran as fast i could in the direction of the screams, screams of terror, screams of exhaustion, screams of helplessness, it was too much for me to process at that moment, but i just knew for a fact that i had to save whoever was there, probably fighting for their lives.

i ran and ran, and as the smoke slowly evaporated as i got closer and closer, what i saw in front of me was something i wish i had never seen.

eleven, tied to a... statue? tree? pole?

whatever she was tied to, didn't matter.

what mattered to me was vecna, standing about 5metres in front of eleven as those dark black veins choked her more and more every second.

my eyes bounced from eleven to vecna, and i was just breathing heavily to repay my oxygen debt.

it was when vecna stared me down whilst still guarding eleven in front of him that bought my anxiety levels up.

i knew i had to waste no time when eleven started to move less, her body getting weaker every second as she was practically suffocating, and a smile forming on vecnas face.

one word was heard from her, and that was when she turned to see me, looking frightened.

she said, "tell mike i'll love him always" as if it was the end of her existence.

and i wouldn't let that happen.
