I own nothing but Cassandra and any other new characters.

I sit in the front row of the church and the person at the front reads from the scripture. My mama does last week and I have been left alone. There are only a few people here. My mama did not have many friends because she was so busy taking care of me. I'm only four but my mama has been on her own with me become my papa had no idea till I was born. I look behind me and see a few groups of people. The biggest group seems to be a family. I think mama called them the Madrigals. I've been to two party's at their house. The last one was sad cause it was super short and all the grown ups seemed sad.

After the funeral I go back to my house and walk into my mamas bedroom. I sit on her bed and notice a slip of paper on the side table. I pick it up and see my mother's hand writing.

Dear Cassandra,
If you are reading this I have left you. I am so sorry but I know you will be strong. I still want you to be taken care of. You will find an envelope. Please do not open it. Take the envelope to casa Madrigal where we went to those parties, remember? Give the envelope to Señorita Alma. She will take care of you I'm sure of it. I love you my little hija.

Love, Mama

That night I fall asleep in her bed clutching the note.
