I own nothing but Cassandra and any other new characters.

I follow Abuela out to the patio central and see that the whole family was there. Tía Juliete was with her family. She was married to my Tío Agustin and they had three girls, Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel. Tía Pepa is with her husband Tío Felix, and their children, Dolores, Camillo. They all looked at me curiously.

"We have a new addition to the Madrigal family." Abuela announced. "This is Cassandra and she...she is...she is Bruno's daughter."

It was silent for a second before Juliete came and ushered me forward. I say hi to each person. They were all super nice but I was still nervous.

"We believe that the new door is for her." Abuela says, "so tonight we will have a gift ceremony. We must begin to set up! I will take Cassandra to the town to announce it and the rest of you begin to set up."

Abuela gets distracted by something and someone comes up behind me. I turn and see...me? But then it transforms into My cousin Camillo.

"Hi," he said, "I'm Camillo."

"Cassandra." I smile.

"So you're my new cousin?"

"I guess."

"Okay cool! Want to be best friends? I used to be best friends with my cousin Mirabel, but after her failed gift ceremony she's been really mean."

"Sure! But will she be mean to me if I get a gift?"

"Let's hope not." Camillo laughs.

"Come Cassandra." Abuela took me out to town.

We stood on the church stairs as the people began to gather. Once everyone was there Abuela began talking.

"We will be having a gift ceremony tonight." Everyone looked confused. "It has come to our attention that my son, Bruno, who just ran away, has a daughter that he never told us about. He had secretly married the girls mother without telling any of us. This is Cassandra. Some of you might have heard her mother died last week and she sent her to us, revealing the secret. We are very sport this is so last minute but we just met her this morning." Everyone laughed. "See you tonight for the festivities!"

As we left tons of people stopped to talk to the two of us. I got a lot of questions about whether or not I knew that Bruno was my father or if my mother didn't die they just ran away together. When we finally got back I ran to find Camillo. He was so far my favorite cousin and I trust him the most.
