*That Night*

*Laura's P.O.V*

After talking to Eddie more, I learned he likes metalhead, he is twenty years old and failed his senior year twice, and loves to play D&D with his friends. And that his uncle works at the plant. Along with my mom.

I used to play D&D at my last school. Until I realized that some things in the game can come true and haunt you.

Eddie had a game tonight and we would meet outside school to drive to his place to get high. I was excited I wasn't going to get high alone. If I was by myself I would freak out and somehow end up in the back of the high school completely naked. Well, that was at my last school.

I waited for Eddie as everyone got out of the school. There was a game. And judging by how they were celebrating, I think they won.

"Hey, new girl!" I heard my name. Soon the doors crashed open and Eddie's Hellfire club came out laughing and happy. "You should come by the party. Maybe we can help you meet a few of my friends." The boys started to laugh. I rolled my eyes.

"Are they bothering you?" Eddie asked me as his friends left.

"When aren't they?" I asked. Eddie looks over at the boys.

"Hey!" Eddie yells out.

"Eddie!" I shout. I went after him and grabbed his arm. "Come on. What would be better? Getting high with the new girl, or going to the hospital because your stupid?"

"I don't like you calling me stupid," Eddie says.

"Well, get used to it. Because if you are going to do stupid things, I'll call you stupid," I tell him. He looks at me and smiles. "Come on. Where are you parked?"

"Over there," He says. I looked over to see a van.

"Cool. You have a van?" I asked him. He nods his head. "Sweet. I mean I like my BMW, but having a van for other reasons is probably the best thing you could ever get."

"Seriously?" He asked me. I nodded.

"Getting high in the back of a van? Having sex in the back of a van? A dream come true," I said.

"You're being sarcastic?" He asked me.

"I may be. I may not. You will never know Eddie," I said getting into his van. Eddie gets into the driver's seat and starts up the van and we headed off.

"So tell me. Why Hawkins? Why in the middle of the school year?" He asked me as he drove.

"Well. My mom got a job at the plant and she wanted a fresh start for me considering I burned down half of my old school," I said. Eddie looks at me then back at the road.

"You what?" He asked. I chuckled.

"Back at my old school, I use to be a 'popular' girl. Whatever the hell that is. Honestly, I didn't even want it. I was just given it. But I went to this party and a friend of my friend gave us this drug called Special K. I thought it was no big deal considering I have done drugs before. I took it and the next day I woke up naked out on the grounds of my school. Half of the school was burning and I had no memory of what happened," I tell him. "Turns out the camera caught everything. I walked into the school, took some gasoline, poured it all around the science wing, set fire and burned my clothes along with it. Even though the picture was in black and white, the principal could've sworn he saw blood on my clothes. I was expelled and mom found a new job with a new school to go with it. Hoping I can graduate, but with my sucky grades and moving. I know I'm going to be held back a year."

"Damn. You are a badass," He says. I laughed.

"That is basically why I hate attention. Especially from guys. I was known as the slut back at my old school. Even though I only slept with one guy, who was a total douche. Told the whole school when I went on vacation I slept with three other guys at the same time. Which did not happen," I said. "I just want whatever years I have in high school to pass so I can graduate and get away from all of this attention."

"I'm sorry you had to go through all of that," He says.

"The past is the past Eddie. I'm not gonna bitch and whine over it," I said. He looks at me then back at the road. Soon he takes a turn down to the trailers. Not long he parks his van and we both get out. We walked up the stairs and Eddie opens the door. He lets me in first and I thanked him. Once when we both get in, Eddie closes the door and starts to root around for his bong.

"Sorry about the mess Laura," He says. "I haven't had time to clean."

"Don't worry about it Ed," I said. He looks up at me. "I'm used to messy." He smiles and keeps rooting through his stuff.

"I'm sure it's here somewhere," He says. "I'll be right back." I nodded and he runs into the back. I waited in the middle of the living room. Hoping he would come back fast.

"Laura," I heard my name. I looked around to see the grandfather clock once again. It chimed but it was still disoriented. I closed my eyes. Hoping it would all go away.

"Stop it," I mumbled. "You are not real. You are just a game I played."

"But I am not," He says.

"Stop it," I yell out. I open my eyes and saw I was in my home. In California. I started to run around. Hoping I could find a way out. Nothing. I needed to escape from him. He has been following me since New York. I ran upstairs to hear yelling.

"Stop it, Frank! She's our daughter!" I heard mom yell.

"She is nothing but a test subject. A danger to all of us," A man's voice says. Frank.

"She is just a little girl. Do you think she would be able actually to hurt someone?" Mom asked him.

"When she grows up. Why don't I call Brenner and tell him she's here? He would love that," Frank says. I looked over to see a younger version of myself walking slowly over to the bedroom.

"Stop it, Frank!" I heard mom yell. Soon I heard a crash and young Laura ran to the bedroom. I followed them and stood in the doorframe.

"Stop it!" Laura yells out. Without thinking she held out her hand and Frank goes flying into the wall. Smacking his head-on against the wall and falling on the bed. Laura looks at the body. Soon she looks at her mother, who was in shock. Laura lifted her hand to her nose and soon she saw blood coming from it. "Mom. I have a nose bleed." Mom ran over and hugged Laura.

"Sweetie. Go get your stuff. We have to go,"  She says. Laura nods and leaves.

"You killed your father," I heard the voice.

"No. I didn't. I didn't kill my father. He was going to hurt mom. I protected her," I said walking out and down the stairs. "This isn't real. You are trying to manipulate me into believing I killed my father."

"It's all real Laura," He says. I get to the door and tried to open it, but it was locked. I turned and saw the creature getting closer to me. Was this the end for me? Will I ever get to see Eddie again? Will I be able to smoke with him? That was the real question.

Soon I heard We're Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sisters playing.

"He thinks he can save you with a stupid song," The creature says. He chuckles. "Pathetic. When you think about it you're already gone." The creature comes closer and has his hand out. Without thinking I let out a scream and fell to my knees. The creature disappears and soon I realized I was back in Eddie's trailer.

I found out I was on my knees with my headphones on playing the music I was hearing the music that was playing in my vision. Or whatever the hell that was. I saw Eddie was on the ground in shock. I took off my headphones.

"What the hell Laura?" He asked me.
