The Final Hour

Chapter 12

Lizzy's Point of View

I opened my eyes and looked around. People were laying on the sandy beach looking exhausted. Some palm trees looked as if the just fell in the sand, some other trees had fallen across the street. I was sitting in the soft sand. I stood up brushing the sand off of me. All i could do was stare at the mess that lay out before me.

Then from behind me i heard, "Lizzy" I turned around and it was Anna-Marie. She had a worried look on her face like something bad just happened.

"What's going on?" the words escaped my lips as I stood there in confusion.

"You did that thing!"

"What thing? What are you talking about?" I was getting more and more confused by the second.

"That thing! How did you do that?" I could tell she was starting to get confused too.

"I have no idea what you are talking about?"

"You like went all ninja and stuffs!"

"No, I didn't." What is going on?

"Yes you did, it was so awesome!"

I started turning around to get a 360 idea of what happened. "I really don't remember doing that."

Gavin came up to us and stood next to Anna-Marie. "She wont remember, it's a long story and a lot of explaining." He turned around as if expecting and answer from some invisible person.

"Hey where did Mr. O'Reilly go?" I asked.

"You'll see." Gavin said, and a smile appeared on his lips.

I started to become a little suspicious, but i had no time to think before I was tackled to the ground.I gave a little scream out of fright of what just happened.

"You need to constantly be on guard and watching your back Maiden of the Air" Mr. O'Reilly's voice sounded deeper and more serous.

"What did you just call me?" I demanded.

"You need to find your opponent's weakness and use it against them, I see you get surprised easily."

"Let me go. What are you doing? Mr. O'Reilly please let me go." I sort of yelled as I kicked my legs while trying to free my arms.

"Don't call me that anymore, my first name is Steve."

"Ok, Steve could you let me go?"

He gave a little chuckle, "No, I cant."

I was starting to get fed up with this, "Ok that's it!" I tried to unfold my wings, but that guy just had to be on my back while my face was in the sand. I shifted into a panther instead. I stood as a big cat facing Mr.O'Reily. His eyes narrowed. I took that as a hint that he challenged me to a fight. Why exactly was he doing this?

We stood there waiting for the other to make the first move. A deep growl came from my throat and I let my teeth show. His hands balled up into fists and his eyes narrowed. Game on. This made me smile, but also developed a slight fear of what was about to happen. With one twitch of his hand, Steve made me loose my footing and i fell to the ground. Sand flew up all around me, but i got back up on all fours just as fast as I fell. I pounced on Steve, holding his arms under my gigantic midnight black paws. Steve tried to free himself, but all he did was covering himself deeper into the sand from under my grasp.

"Ok you win, I forfeit." He said sounding slightly amused.

I stepped off of him, but staying a panther just in case. I don't think I can trust this guy anymore. He stood up, smoothed his clothes out, and walked over to Gavin and Anna-Marie. He said something to them. They both nodded. Anna-Marie came up to me and I shifted back so we could talk.

"Aaww man this is so cool. I wonder what I can do." She said. We walked back to the two guys.

I squinted at the sudden bright lights. This place was all white except the people and a couple other things. We had been led back through that one building with the round windows and underground. Turns out there is this secret door at the end of the never-ending hallway.... the hallway does come to an end!! Well there was this whole secret underground organization thing, and we were being showed around.

"Here we are." Steve said. We all stopped walking and stood in front of a large table and an even larger screen. A lot of important looking things were being displayed on the screen like what looked like the news, computer files, and other stuff like that. "This is Lucy, and Lana this is Anna-Marie and Lizzy." He gestured to each one of us as he talked. "Lizzy, you will go with Lucy, and I will take Anna-Marie where she needs to go."

I looked at Lucy and she gave me a smile. "Let's go." We walked into yet another room, but this one was different. It had sort of a homey feeling to it. She sat down at the little round table and I sat right across from her. "There is a lot of explaining to this so I will make it as short as possible. People in this world are not like they seem. We have powers."

"Like superman!?!"

"Yah something like that. We take those people here. We have been in hiding for a long time. Last time we blended with normal humans they thought it was witch craft, which began the so called 'witch era' in the middle ages. If we do that again we fear for something worse. But you are different, your like me. We both have the same mark on our left shoulder blade. It's called the Triquetra. The three different branches off of it represent different things. Maiden, mother, and old woman; love, Honor, and protect; the division of the land, sky, and sea; or mind, body, and soul. These do tell which one we are and how we may act. I am the mother of the sea, and I hear you are daughter of the sky. The old woman of the land is busy right now, but i will introduce you. We have controll over all powers, but we only master what we are best at. You, we can already tell, will master anything in relation to the sky and air. I have mastered anything in relation to the sea. The old woman, Lana, has mastered anything in relation to the land. We also have main powers to. You are a shifter. So even if you weren't the daughter then you would be a just a shifter.

"The three of us are the main ones in charge of keeping this Galaxie safe. All through history there have been wars with other aliens, i will call then for now, over who takes over us. Every time there is a battle, a mark is left. This explaines the seven wonders of the world. Other battles have also happened on other planets, but the main one is Earth. It is the main planet that supports life so of course others are going to want it.

"Now this doesnt mean that it's just us protecting everyone else, but it's everyone else on this island. We have stayed together more and more in the past years so we can alert each other faster and that prevents more battles. That explaines why the battles in the past happened a long time ago."

I still had a lot of questions unanswered, "But how does that explain what happened today?"

"I getting to that. When one of us; maiden, mother, or old women; faces a time when we are not powerful enough to deal with the suituation then we go into this attack mode. This is what happened to you. It we train you enough then that will not happen as easly." I heard her stomach growl. 'Training will happen right after lunch."

"Oh my god, whait do you have pig bacon?" I asked raising my eyebrows.

"Yes." she gave a chuckle, "But dont tell Lana, she a vegatarian and animal lover. Oh there is more to this whole thing, but you will learn more as you go."
