Macaque sat in the shadows of a dark alley, fresh from a new defeat against Sun Wukong. The Demon angrily punched the wall, the brick cracking under the pressure.
He couldn't even blame the kid or one of the other sidekicks for getting in the way or foaling things up for him. The group of them were off on a different adventure somewhere; Macaque didn't pay much attention to what they were up to. He just knew that they were out of his way and not in a world-might-end situation, that was good enough for him.
Macaque wasn't sure if he wanted to scream, laugh, or cry, as the frustration build inside of him. Large raindrops began to pour down on his head, the dark fur monkey was only able to get out an annoyed grumble as the weather seemingly appearing just to mock him.
So much had gone right, he was so close to serving Wukong a defeat but just like every other time Sun found a way to win and stood victorious over him. Then again why should he have expected anything else? No matter what he did, how much time he put into planning, or how hard he worked, it was never good enough to beat the cocky, self-righteous, bastard.
The Shadow Monkey didn't even care about killing Wukong anymore, just wanted Sun to be filled with pain and frustration that came from an utter defeat, see the look in Sun's eyes as he realized there was no way to win against him. But when it came to fights between the two of them, that feeling seemed reserved purely for the demon of shadows.
Why? Why in over 500 years couldn't he manage to kick that damn Wukong down a few thousand pegs, why could he never seem to change the outcome when it came to anything between him and Wukong?
The rain somehow stopped falling on him but the drops still pitter-pattered on the ground around him. Macaque curiously looked up and jumped into a fighting position.
Right above him stood a figure balancing on a clothing line, holding a white umbrella over both their heads, their long dark blue raincoat; their hood hiding the individual's features from him.
"Hi" they greeted, giving a little wave with their spare hand, covered in white gloves he noted. "Would you like to join me for a meal?"
"W-what?" Macaque half laughed out, mostly at the pure absurdity of someone who managed to sneak up on a shadow demon; in a dark ally no less, asking if he wanted to join them for dinner. The extra strange thing was that their tone suggested it was an actual invite to a meal and not him being said meal.
They jump down, landing on the ground like a feather touching down onto a puddle. "There's a restaurant not too far from here that I've been wanting to try out" The women began, "reviews say they have great food and a meal always tastes better with a little company." They explained as if it was an obvious answer, to his puzzled look.
Now that the person was closer Macaque could see that the person was a female, one that was a little taller than he was. The women's eyes a deep violet and platinum blond hair framing her face. She was no one he knew, that was for sure.
"Sorry, I don't share meals with people I don't know.... steal yes, share not so much." He said with a shake of his head, using a playful smile to appear less on guard, the shadow demon trying to size her up. To his frustration and curiosity, he couldn't read her power level at all, even with his demon site. "I'm at least going to need a name..." Time to fish some info out of this girl.
"Winter, Witch of Storms" She introduced with a slight bow of her head.
The Shadow Monkey frowned, the name not ringing any bells. "Macaque, Six-eared Macaque" he replied, there was no recognition of his name on her face. Though she did lean to the left and then the right checking out his ears.
The Witch opened her mouth, to probably ask a question about him only appearing to have two ears but was interrupted by the grumbling of her stomach. "Sooooo... Yes to dinner or am I going alone. My treat by the way."
