Macaque and one of his shadow clones stood along the edge of a field and a forest. The Monkey demon's hand plays with a single strand of the Witch's white hair.
"Alright, let's see what you can do," Macaque said, stabbing his hand into the clone's body releasing the hair inside of it. The monkey demon quickly pulled his hand back out as the clone's eyes started to glow a deep blue, and a cloud design appeared along its robe.
"Not a big difference" Macaque commented a little disappointed, as he looked over the clone.
"Alright let's see what you can do, cut that tree" The demon ordered, causally gesturing to the line of trees off to the side, figuring it was fine on whatever tree was cut.
The clone raised its hand, a white rapier forming in its hold.
Macaque noted the new weapon, which could work in some battle situations but was still hoping for something... More. Maybe he was expecting too much from a single strand of hair.
The clone swiped the sword through the tree. Macaque was caught off guard as a backlash of gale force winds nearly sent him flying. The monkey demon was forced to dig his feet and hands into the ground or be blown away.
When the winds died down, the shadow demon stared in awe at the sight before him. Watched several dozen trees tumble over, shaking the ground as they crashed to the forest floor. All the trunks were cleanly cut from A SINGLE STRIKE, even the ones that didn't fall around the 'strike zone' showed a deep cut in their bark.
"NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Macaque gleefully cheered. This was just the kind of power boost he was looking for.
"Alright, what else you can do!?" The demon chuckled, with renewed vigour.
First, he tried splicing up the wind-powered shadow, into other clones. Macaque can create two other clones from the original, one having a lighter form of blue and the other having a grey colour to it. If he tried to split the clones any further than that they simply became his regular shadows.
"Guess I can't be too surprised that the power can only be split so far" Macaque muttered to himself, it was still just one hair.
After making the three clones slice up more trees, Macaque figured out that the raw power was also spread between the three clones; each containing 1/3 of the original power. Which honestly wasn't that bad of a thing, made the attacks easier to control, and they still held quite a punch compared to his regular clones.
The Demon then ordered his clones to chop up all the down trees into smaller handheld logs and to do it as quickly as they could.
If the power level was a great upgrade, the speeded at which his clones could now move was exponential. They weren't as fast as Ne Zha, but they could at least give the celestial speedster a run for his money.
"If I collect more of these Witch's hairs, even Wukong wouldn't stand a chance against me" Macaque evilly grinned, he could finally put that damn monkey king in his place, he could-
"Again you're going back to the physical fight tactic"
The Witch's words rang in the back of Macaque's mind, halting his train of thought.
"even though you're using a different 'tool' you're still putting the advantage on his side."
"Damn I'm already repeating old mistakes" The monkey demon sighed rubbing his forehead.
"Why not take a more mental approach over a physical one?" The Witch suggested.
Right, he needed to give this new plan a try, otherwise, he was just going to get the same results he always did.
