VIVIANNE ROSEWOOD HAD QUICKLY GAINED CONTROL OF HER POWERS. However, she soon found out that there were other people who wished to control her powers as well. Dr Brenner was one of them. His friendly smile and his sweet voice made her stomach churn with disgust. The way he would run his hand through her hair made her want to crack every bone inside his hand.
He would refer to her as his daughter and she was supposed to call him 'Papa'. Whatever sick fantasy he lived in, Vivianne wanted nothing to do with it. But a quick look into his mind told her that he would be useful for her future. They needed each other, and once Vivianne was done with him, she would dispose of him. Her murder plans would have to wait until Vivianne was old enough to burn the place to the ground.
'Hello?' Dr Brenner knocked on her door.
Vivianne paid no attention to him, the different chess pieces floating in the air by her command.
'Viv?' Dr Brenner asked again, opening the door to her room.
At the sound of the door opening, the pieces dropped to the bed with a gentle thud. A soft glare was cast Dr Brenner's way.
'Vivianne. My name is Vivianne,' Vivianne replied, eyes wandering from Dr Brenner to the boy beside him.
With a sigh, Dr Brenner took a step inside.
'Vivianne,' he began, exasperation tugging on his heart. 'I have a friend for you.'
'I don't need friends,' Vivianne muttered, removing the heads of the chess pieces, one by one.
The older man glanced down at the chess pieces with a worried look. He knew Vivianne always found joy in hurting others, it had been quite obvious by the way she behaved.
'Why don't you introduce yourself?' Dr Brenner asked the boy, nudging him forward.
The boy stayed silent, watching Vivianne with intrigued eyes. He seemed to be older than her, not by much though. Perhaps a year or two. She looked into his blue eyes, taking a dive into his memory for a split second. Seeing him murder his own family brought a small smile to his lips. Her hand made their way to his, softly grasping his wrist, turning it so it the numbers were facing upwards.
001.
He seemed to do the same to her, his fingers soft against her skin.
000.
'Friend?' he said, giving her a questioning look.
Slowly nodding, Vivianne chuckled. 'Friend.'

PERHAPS DR BRENNER MADE A MISTAKE WHEN HE INTRODUCED THE TWO CHILDREN. Their powers complemented each other like no other, almost like they were meant to be together. Their personalities were a perfect match, their goals and thoughts were a lot alike. Sometimes one of them would go missing during the night, and then the guards would find them sleeping peacefully beside each other.
They spoke in hushed tones between each other and they smiled like he had never seen them smile before. It was as if their good emotions were only reserved for each other. Dr Brenner had never seen them as content as they were when they were together. He found it fascinating how two humans could connect so well. But alas, he would need to separate them someday. Their power would not decline, no, rather the opposite. As time passed they would go stronger and their power more dangerous.
He knew they were both extraordinary telepaths. But that's not what he feared. He knew Peter was able to create illusions and was able to reach the minds of others quite easily while also being excellent at telekinesis. While Vivianne possessed similar powers, Dr Brenner had noticed that she could manipulate matter on a molecular level. He was never intended on finding out. It was only after the guards informed him that Vivianne was turning her chess pieces into dust particles before putting them back together to what they once were.
Glancing at the two in the rainbow room through the camera, he knew he needed to come up with something before they would cause any harm.
His hand gripped the pen tightly. Tearing his eyes from the camera, Dr Brenner continued to write.
Telepathy.
Molecular manipulation.
Telekinesis.
He wasn't sure if the list was done. If anything, she would expand her knowledge about her powers and the list would be endless. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing. With her by his side, he would be unstoppable.
But Dr Brenner knew Vivianne wasn't on his side, and that scared him.
