Chapter IX & Epilogue

Yang and Ruby arrive at the cemetery to find the Caretaker sitting outside with a mark on his chest.

Yang: What happened?

Caretaker: Salem.

Yang: They have Blake. Where's the contract? I can't end this without it.

The Caretaker doesn't say anything as Yang grabs the shovel.

Yang: Just gonna have to dig up this whole place myself.

The Caretaker stops her as he grabs the shovel.

Caretaker: It's not there, kid.

The Caretaker takes the shovel and presses a button on the pummel. The handle of the shovel opens to reveal the contract. The Caretaker takes it out and holds it in front of Yang.

Caretaker: The contract of San Venganza.

Yang tries to reach for it but the Caretaker pulls away.

Caretaker: The destruction of Remnant.

Yang: I need you to trust me.

Caretaker: And why is that?

Yang: He may have my soul... but he doesn't have my spirit.

Caretaker: (Chuckles) Anyone who's got the guts to sell their soul for love has the power to change the world. You didn't do it for greed. You did it for the right reason. And that puts the God of Light on your side. (Hands Yang the contract) San Venganza is all the way in Vacuo. We better get movin'.

Yang puts the contract in her jacket pocket.

Yang: We?

As Yang heads to Bumblebee, the Caretaker puts his fingers to his lips and whistles for something. Then out from the fog, a black horse appears before them. The Caretaker hops on the horse.

Caretaker: I got one last ride left in me.

The Caretaker puts on his hat as he bursts into flames, revealing to be the 'Carter Slade', the previous Ghost Rider.

Yang: Carter Slade.

Ruby: Woah.

Carter nods his head.

Yang: Can you keep up?

As on queue the horse also changes with Slade.

Yang walks to her sister.

Yang: Ruby, I know you want to come with but... this is where we part for now.

Ruby: But Yang--

Yang: Ruby, please. I promise I will come back with Blake. And you know when I make a promise...

Ruby: You keep it. (Hugs Yang) Just please come back. Both of you.

Yang: (Breaks hug) I will.

Yang leaves Ruby and hops on her bike.

Yang: Okay, Slade. Lets ride.

Yang becomes the Ghost Rider as the scene transitions to Yang and Carter riding through the deserts of Vacuo on their way to San Venganza. As they ride side by side, they pass by a Dromodon Grimm as it bursts into flames as they pass it. They soon stop on a cliffside to see out in the distance, is the village of San Venganza. Carter grabs his weapon and tosses it to Yang.

Carter: Stick to the shadows.

Yang transforms the weapon into its shovel form and mounts it on her bike as she then reverts herself and her bike back to normal. Yang turns to see Carter and his horse back to normal as well.
