L I S A' s
point of viewHumming, I went to reach for my towel to dry my face. Today is Monday and unlike everyone else who hates this very day, I, on the other hand, is more than happy to welcome this day.
I'm just so excited to go to school, you know?
Who wouldn't, right?
After finishing all my skincare routines, I made way to my walk-in closet to take my newly ironed uniform happily before walking downstairs to greet my parents on the kitchen.
"Oh, Lisa? You're very early today, what seems to be the reason, hmm?" my very own mother, Chittip Manobal said rather playfully to which I returned with a giggle.
My mother and I, we are very close. We are like sisters and best friends rather than being a mother and daughter. I find it very comfortable to talk to my mom about my affairs and everything. It feels good to have your mother to listen to your every stories.
"Why do I feel like you two know something I don't know?" my father, Marco Manobal asked with both his eyebrows raised in a questioning manner that made me and my mom laugh. Of course, he doesn't know.
Not yet, that is.
I took my seat in front of my mother before eating the sandwich my mom had prepared for me.
"Lisa, you will choke. Slow down, alright?"
I waved my hand in front of my parents and smiled, "I'm fine, mom. I really need to hurry now," I said as I drank my juice.
Once I am done, I stood up and went to my bedroom to prepare to go to school.
I ran to a bus stop, panting as I stop to rest inside the waiting area. I fanned myself not wanting to sweat excessively or else I would have to smell like someone who just got out of the gym.
"Lisa-yah!" I heard a shout coming from my left and there I saw my best friend, Jennie Kim running with her cute little legs towards me. I giggled at the sight of her smiling widely, her gummy teeth showing adorably.
"Jennie eonnie!" I called and waved.
"Gahh~ Running is so tiring. Luckily, I came on time else you would have left me like last time," she said so while pouting. Oh, how I wanted to squish those mandu cheeks but I knew she would get angry again so I restrained myself.
"I'm sorry about that, eonnie. I just had to go earlier," I reasoned out.
I saw her rolling her eyes at me. "Of course. Don't think I wouldn't know why you wanted to come earlier. It's because of him, right?"
I shyly tucked my hair behind my ear, nodding with a smile.
She scoffed at me before crossing her arms on top of her chest. "As expected. So, it's 'hoes before bros' now, huh?" she said quoting every word that made me laugh.
"What do you mean by 'hoes before bros', eonnie? Of course, I would never forget you. And also, he is not a hoe," I coaxed her but the woman was too stubborn to comply as she raised her eyebrows at me.
