SUGURU: (*A small meow and some scratching noises*) Shit—oops, sorry buddy, almost dropped my phone.

SATORU: Nothing, it's just that holy shit! What the fuck! That's a whole cat, Suguru, holy hell—

SUGURU: Stop swearing, it can hear you!

SATORU: Stop yelling then, you'll terrify it!

SUGURU: You started yelling!

SATORU: You followed!

SUGURU: Fuck! Oh shit, sorry—fuck—

SATORU: Literally just stop talking, oh my god.

SUGURU: Okay. Okay. Yeah, okay. Anyway it doesn't have a name yet—

SATORU: Crab.

SUGURU: ...Crab?

SATORU: We're naming it crab.

SUGURU: Do you agree with that, Crab? Hey—hey, stop—okay, let me put you here—

SATORU: Okay. So that's Crab.
I already love Crab.

SUGURU: Yeah, I called because I was out to do volunteer work today and found a kitten struggling between the wedges of the wall, I think it was stuck? And I searched around but there were no other cats so I thought somebody could take care of it for now—

SATORU: —I'm honored you thought of me—

SUGURU: —I panicked and didn't know who else to call—

SATORU: What?

SUGURU: —What?

SATORU: Why not me? I can take care of Crab. You can come over when you can, I know pets aren't allowed at your place.

SUGURU: I should get to a vet first, though.

SATORU: Great, great, I'll start looking up how to take care of cats.

SUGURU: You don't know how to take care of a cat?

SATORU: I've never had pets!

SUGURU: Somehow that doesn't make me want to trust you about caring for one.

SATORU: Shut up, you know I can do anything.

SUGURU: If you say so;))

SATORU: I do say so!

SUGURU: I wasn't contesting it!

SATORU: If you say so.

2. New additions to the house — 〚August 10, 2019〛

● A small cat bed next to the living room wall, complete with a tiny bedside desk, an even smaller lamp stolen from a dollhouse set, and miniature pillows with haphazardly-sewn sheets. There is a small framed picture—large relative to the size of the bedside table—of two boys holding a grumpy-looking cat between them.
