WELCOME BACK

It has been six months since Bucky left. I wonder if he's doing okay. We haven't really been in contact since, but I miss him. We all do. Even the ones that won't admit to it, also known as Sam.

My thoughts are interrupted by an odd feeling, the chime of the elevator doors making my head snap up.

Could it be?

"What's wrong?" Steve asks as I run past him.

"He's here!"

As if on cue, the doors of the elevator open to reveal the person I had been wondering about, a smile on his face as he waves.

"Bucky!"

I waste no time in giving him a hug.

His eyes widen as I run towards him, barely having time to set his bags on the floor before I throw my arms around him, almost squeezing him to death.

"You're really back." I whisper.

"Did you miss me doll?" He asks as he hugs me back.

"Pft. Of course not." I say, pulling away from the hug.

"Ah! You cut your hair!"

"Yeah. I felt like it was time for a change. And it helped with the process too."

"I like it!"

"I mean, I like your long hair too, but if you felt like trying something new, I'm all in for it."

"Looks I have some competition now." Steve says, crossing his arms with a smile. "Someone missed my friend more than I did."

I turn around and stick my tongue out.

"Don't get jealous Steve, I have a hug for you too." Bucky says.

"It good to have you back." Steve says, gently patting Bucky's back as he also gives him a hug.

"It's good to be back."

"I'll let you two catch up." I say, heading to my room.

Some time later, I hear a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I call out, putting my book down.

Bucky walks in, hands hidden behind his back.

"Why are you acting so weird?" I ask, raising a brow.

"Because I got you a surprise. Close your eyes."

I do as instructed, smiling when I feel an object on my hand.
