[16] CLASH

CLASH

     Vanessa stands in the middle of the training room, taking a deep breath as Wanda stands in front of her.

"Are you ready for a challenge?" Pietro cockily asks, raising a brow as he crosses his arms, trying to look intimidating.

"I could really use some training right now." Vanessa responds with a smirk.

"Then we better get started." Wanda says, taking the lead.

"It seems like our abilities might be similar." Wanda points out with a smile. "Let's see what you can do."

Tilting her head to the side, Wanda rolls her shoulders back and extends her hands, the familiar red glow coming to life.

On the other hand, Vanessa takes a deep breath, loosening her shoulders before raising her fists to eye level.

Without wasting another second, Wanda blasts a small energy ball in Vanessa's direction, whose eyes widen as she sees it approach.

In one swift move she lifts her hands up and successfully blocks it, but as she prepares to counter attack, her head snaps backwards, loosing her balance.

Within a second, Pietro is there helping her to stand, holding her in place.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine." Vanessa reassures. "I just got a little dizzy."

"It's not bad, but you use too much energy." Wanda says, offering her hand, which Vanessa gladly takes.

"How do you do it Wanda?"

"Don't force it. You have to let it flow through."

"How much training have you had?"

"Not much. I haven't really figured it out yet." Vanessa answers, scratching her temple.

Instead of responding, Wanda gently takes her arm and extends it, running her hands through her arm.

"Focus on the feeling you get when I do this," she says, "and try to match your energy flow with mine."

"Okay."

The smooth sensation coursing through her veins makes her let out a small gasp, her eyes wide as the light glows brighter on her palms.

"Better?"

"Much better." Vanessa says with a smile. "Thank you so much Wanda!"
