In this world there is the possibility of having a soulmate. Not everyone gets to have a soulmate, but it isn't a super rare thing either. It tends to manifest itself through physical aspects like hearing, taste, vision, general feeling or even tattoos.

4:23 p.m. 4th of December, 2021

Ria is turning 19 and she is hoping to get her soulmate manifestation, since it starts showing up at the age of 15. Everyone thinks she isn't getting a soulmate. It has been 4 years... people usually don't manifest their soulmates this late, the gap is usually little - unless there is an age gap.

Seonghwa is already 23 years old. No soulmate. Which, you know, is ideal for an idol. Being in a relationship and in this industry is just brutal so, for their loved one's sake, idols usually avoid having soulmates or even finding them. Many have to go around with tape covering their soulmate tattoos to make sure no one shows up. It's awful, that's true, but it's for the best - so they say.

Oh god, 2 minutes left till my birth time. I still hope that I can find my soulmate, or at least have some sort of contact with them... One minute left. Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes so high, what if it doesn't work out? Even if I do have a soulmate, how can I be sure that I'll find them or that we are truly compatible? What if, what if, what if...

The clock ticks, my close family is all around me, some friends too. They start singing happy birthday. I finally blow the candles and we turn on the lights. I feel so nervous. Waking up always sucks, specially since I have to wake everyone else. And these boys are a pain in the ass. Ok, Seonghwa just get up, we have hair, makeup and a shoot to get to. I walk towards the bathroom and look at the mirror, proceeding to wash my face. God... I always forget I look this bad in the morning, thankfully I don't have a soulmate to show my sleepy fACE HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THIS! He ran out as fast as he could. Yeosang was just leaving his room.

It was her birthday then! It must have developed on your wrist while you were asleep, timezones and all. Seonghwa let himself fall on his knees while smiling as wide as ever.

Ria was shocked, worried, terrified even but mostly she was happy and excited. I really do have a soulmate! I told you that I'm too much of a hopeless romantic to give up on this. Problem is... you should google my soulmate.

After doing some research, Seonghwa concluded that Ria was European, it made the most sense, given the name and the timezone. Now all that was left was for one of them to reach out. I mean, with a single google search, his soulmate could find him, but he... he had to wait.

After giving it some thought, Ria came up with her answer. Well, this isn't good for his career, if it does turn out to be the Seonghwa that I'm thinking of. I'm going to let things flow. I don't want to try and contact the label, I don't want to travel there. I'm just gonna stay put, live life normally. Why would you do that? You know who he is, why not try and contact him? From that day onwards, Seonghwa lived as the happiest man alive. No, he didn't reach full potential, he still had to meet Ria. But he truly was happier than ever. He could wait forever if he had to. At least she exists and she loves him just as much. Just thinking about it made him get butterflies in his stomach. Work suddenly became easier, everything was worth it, because he had Ria. For her, he would do anything.

She couldn't stop watching ateez videos. It felt like her love for them (and Seonghwa specially) just grew bigger day by day. The universe is so funny, Seonghwa was already her bias. She cared for him deeply and even had to do many reality checks to avoid building romantic feelings for him. Nonetheless, she always did, and she cursed herself for it, until now. Now she didn't feel guilty, not one bit.
