Your POV

I giggled as I ran away from my maids and bodyguards. I held my books tightly as I left my dress slightly, so I wouldn't trip. I ran through the gardens and into the high bushed maze. Knowing the maze by memory, I figured it out and quickly opened and closed the maze door to go to my secret hiding spot. What an amazing morning to start off with. I stood behind the door to hear the complaints of the staff.

"The King will be furious. Our special guests are arriving soon and the Princess is no where to be found!!" Complained my head maid.

"We will find her," said my father's guard. "Don't stop looking!! Find the princess! Guard every exit! Go to every hiding spot possibly known to our knowledge!" The footsteps faded and I shook my head as I head over to sit down on the sofa I totally did not take from the library, and dragged it to my reading quarters.

Took a while to do it in my free time, to drag them without getting caught. But it was worth it. The crispy chilly morning air hitting my skin, as it felt refreshed after running a while. I set my books down and sighed. Grabbing one of my newer books and I started to read.

It was a story about two lovers who fell in love and are from two different worlds. A spy and princess. Sounds a bit non-existent fantasy. I never met a spy. More so... I don't know anything about the outside world. If there's such thing as a spy or not. There's lots of things I don't know. I heard of technology. Television. Cars. I do know what's a camera. I have been on camera to be broadcasted to the world about our kingdom. Whatever that meant. I came to hear of these things because of my books. My father has this ideology to keep me unaware of the outside world to fix the problems before I step up and take the throne someday.

I listened to birds chirp and the sound of wind blowing through the trees as I read my book. I was so intrigued, I didn't notice until I felt a sudden shift of weight next to me. I looked up from my book and my eyes widen. I screamed as I see a blonde man with a green well dressed tuxedo.

   "How the-"

"How did I find you?" I nod. The man looks at me and 'tsk' at me. "I put clues together and followed your footprints. It was easy really." Look upwards to see a flying object. "I didn't see you at the throne room. Your father is worried sick about you. So I offered to help and find you." He explains.

"Now explain something to me.... who are you?" I asked as I stood up and looked at him.

"Apologies. Where are my manners, your highness." He stood up and grabbed my hand as he lifted it to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss against the back of my hand. "My name is Loid Forger. Also known as 'Twilight'. Your father requested my agency's service to protect you, your highness. How much do you know to why I'm here?"

'Shit. I should've paid attention in that family meeting. Think Y/n. Think.' I looked down to think and I hear another 'tsk'. "Umm... I—"

"When your father says your a handful, he wasn't kidding," he sighs. He gave me a smile and I knew it was half genuine and half fake. I did it all the time. "Let me help you refresh your memory." He clear his throat and his drops from his happy aura to a serious dark aura. "As you know, Roseina is the kingdom know for peace for both Westalis and Ostanian. And also know for their beautiful roses. But we got rumors from our infiltrated spies for the Ostanian side, that they're planning to murder either one of you or all of you, to break the peace. As your kingdom is neutral. Since your father declined Ostanian's offer from one of their higher ups many times, he has a gut feeling that next time won't be a pretty one. So I, Loid Forger, am here to protect you."

Then a memory suddenly hit me...

"This Friday, a group of spies are coming to help back up our men for our weekly visitor from Ostanian. Y/n, I want you to put all your trust in- Y/N ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" My father snapped at me as I start to fall asleep.

I am meeting a real life spy.

"I remember... You're the spy, my father mentioned." I replied as I closed my book and stood up.

"Good to know, you finally remember. Princess Y/n. Please trust me. I promise to protect you. But in return, I need you to help me in future assignments and promise me to never reveal who I am to anyone and I mean no one. Not a single soul. Only selected trusted royal staff knows about me," he pulled my hand as he rested his other hand on my waist pulling me close. His black gloved hand held my white gloved hand.

"I promise to never reveal your real occupation and identity, Mister Forger," I stared into his ocean blue eyes as he stared into my (e/c) ones. I felt my heart race as his hand trailed up my waist to cup my cheek.

"Call me Loid. No need to be formal, Princess."

"I promise, Loid."

"Let's head back, shall we? Let's get to know each other," he suggested. His words said nothing but gentleness. Though his eyes said he has no interest in getting to know me. Like I'm a nuisance, but he is doing it get a better understanding of me and my family. For a moment, I thought I saw loneliness. Was it a hallucination? The ocean eyes were lonely and distant. He looks away as he caught me staring. I looked down and picked up my books, leading the way out and back to the palace.
