Your POV

Just as soon my father left with King Chevalier, Loid walks up, out of his disguise and offered his hand as he bowed.

"Your highness... would it be an honor to have this dance?" He asks gracefully.

I giggled at little seeing him blushing and trying to act out as if he was one of the nobles. I think Ayame has taught him a few things, when I'm not around.

I stood up and curtsy, lifting my gown skirts up. "Why, I would be honored Mister Forger." I smiled and grab hold of his hand. My mother's maid took my mother's signal as to gesture the musicians to change the  music. It was time for the Waltz.

And as always, the royal family goes first before everyone can dance.

We went straight to the center of the ball room, onto of my kingdom's emblem. We bowed to one another and the music played. I entwine my left hand with his right and my right onto his arm. While he paced his left hand onto my waist. His touch was gentle and graceful.

We moved to the beat of the music.

It's like we were in our own world. We locked eye contact as we focused on one another. He spun me around and pulled apart to circle each other to only be back into each other's arms. We continued dancing around as he flashed me a smile like he is actually enjoying himself. The past few days have been having him on edge, since the incident. His posture and feature give him such a beautiful elegant look. I felt like the world slowed down and sparkles surrounded him. He spun me around and pulled me close, as the music ends and I felt each other's warmth.

The sound of the guest clapping of our performance, broke whatever enchanting spell was casted on us. Loid looked a bit embarrassed and looked around, forgetting where we are.

I curtsy and he bows as he leads back to my chair but to be stopped by the one and only diplomat who never gives up, Jacob.

"Good evening your highness. Why you danced lovely tonight." Says Jacob. "May I have this dance too?" He stepped closer but I backed away.

"My apologies but I'm a little tired." Not really. I just don't want to go dance with him.

"Turned down by your highness, once again. I'm wounded." He clutches his suit. His gaze turned to Loid. "Oh. I believe I haven't seen you before. And who may you be?"

I grabbed a glass of wine, that one of our butler's was carrying around on a tray and took a sip.

"I'm Loid Forger. Nice to meet you." He shakes hands with Jacob.

"Nice to meet you as well. So what's your purpose here tonight Mister Forger? You don't look like a man of royal status." He says as he observed Loid from head to toe.

"Oh.. I was advised by the king to come. And I only received it yesterday his invitation. So I rushed right over. Sorry for my appearance." Loid says. "My sudden invitation was a shock to me. As you see... Me and the princess are engaged."

I choked on my wine and I felt my throat on fire. I fan myself to calm down my aggressively coughing and I looked at Loid. He gave me a look to play along in his eyes, while Jacob was focusing his attention on me.

"Are you alright, your highness?" Jacob asked as he eyed my suspiciously.

"Sorry..." I coughed. "Loid, I thought we announce it later, when the timing is right?" I continued to fan myself.

"But my love... Our secret was bound to be revealed sooner or later." He says. "It saddens me our distance and it makes me miss you more and more."

Ok. For a spy, with zero experience in the Royal life. He got the formality, tone and expression right. Makes me forget he's an actual spy.

My heartbeat sped up as if his words had any actual feelings towards me, though it's an act.

"You're engaged?" Jacob says bitterly.

"Why yes. Father just wasn't ready to give up his time on the throne to anno-"

The grand ballroom doors opened abruptly by King Chevalier, who was severely wounded. He looks at me and run towards me, pushing me behind him.

"Chev-"

"Stay away from her." He warns. He looks at Loid and nods at him. He draws his sword and King Chevalier's men did too. "You poisoned the king. Plotted everything from the start. Even ambushed us, while in mid-discussion."

"No... father is..." I felt light headed as Loid caught me. I heard my mother's scream as I lifted my head and saw her body fall. The guests backed away in fear.

"Take her. Don't look back or return. I, King Chevalier, will bring peace to your home." Chev, my childhood friend looked slightly back at me. "Don't worry about about me. Run while you still can. Licht and Luke will help you escape, they have been informed."

He did bring his brothers. To help tighten security. But yet... he is fighting my battle for my crown. To help regain it for me.

Loid helps me up and he pulled my hand, as he started running. I heard a pair of swords clash as it echoed down the hall. Slowly, bit by bit, my shoes have fallen off, my skirt has and sadly... my crown. I wanted to go back for it but Loid didn't want to stop. We met up with Chev's brothers, as they escorted us, following Loid's directions.

I saw my maid... my mother fallen in the hands of the devil. And so has my father. Was saying that, a bad move? Would I return to my beloved kingdom? I mean... I know I should. I'm the last royal descendant. Unless I had a brother.

A hand landed on my shoulder, startling me out of my daze and I was met a pair of sky blue eyes.

"I'm sorry about your loss. And about the engagement thing. It was your father's order. He knew the risks. I met up with King Chevalier earlier as your father knew how he was with strangers." He opened his suit and pulled out a letted. "I think you should read this."

I grabbed the letter and opened it. I pulled out the letter and my eyes water.

Dear my beautiful daughter,

As your reading this, I'm already dead. I saw this coming. The past few days, Loid has found and disposed a powdered substance, which he concluded with the result of poison. Though... he theorized there's a traitor in the palace. To bring the traitor out of the shadows, I knew my role was. I don't regret my decision. But I do regret one thing... not telling you about your little brother whom is probably now 18. His name is Ayu. He is somewhere in Ostanian already living with a family of spies. Loid will be looking into where he is soon. Teach him what he needs to know. I'm sorry you couldn't meet him. I sent him away at birth to protect him. But when you met him, the sensation of the powerful will bring you both together to come home. We knew one day, me, your mother, Ayame and the others knew a day would come to break the peace between the two nations. This just ignited a spark that will soon grown. I offered you to King Chevalier several time, to be under his wing of protection. He doesn't see you any more than a sister figure or he calls it a simpleton. He will work hard to wipe out all enemies in the kingdom until it's safe for your return. I will be with you forever my darling daughter. Hug my dear boy like the hugs I always gave you when you were ready for bed.

-Papa
